Sometimes I can hear wheezing but typically only when we pick him up. When he is just sitting and laying down normal you can barely hear it. He is eating just as much as he usually does, but less pooping than usual. No matted fur that I can tell but he does have a wet, runny nose. He probably only sneezes a couple of times a day so it’s not over…[Read more]

Hmmmmm that’s very strange and frustrating! Your vet checked all the things I was going to mention with her… Has Gus been checked over? Sometimes when the bond has issues it’s because of a medical issue with the bun being harassed.
If medical issues with Gus are ruled out, I wonder if you might need to do some bonding sessions between them to…[Read more]

I’ve been sourcing locally, which for me is getting sketchy as the virus is now about 160 miles from us. If it gets any closer I will prob stop feeding greens until we get the vaccine (should be within a few weeks, woohoo!).
If you can confirm your greens are sourced from Northern CA you should be OK. A lot of lettuces and greens are grown in…[Read more]

I am not sure about the bonding part of the equation, but Dorian is a flopper and he flops when he’s ran about or any type of physical exertion (I mean he also flops if he liked his dinner or I am sitting in the same room, or its sunny, so who knows how accurately I am reading this!). But it seems almost like a reaction to being tired. He…[Read more]

no fur inside, just hay from what I can tell. They crumbled pretty easy. He has had a larger than usual appetite last two days, maybe that is all it is. The quantity was less startling this morning, more his usual amount. I think I am not going to worry given that he seems pretty content. He had a blast yesterday evening doing bunny 500s around…[Read more]

Hey guys. I’m really hoping for some help because I’m losing my mind
Ethel is a 6.5 year old spayed female (spayed at 5 months) house rabbit. She lives with Gus (6.5yo neutered male) and has done since 8wks old. Ethel has always been the boss, but they are best friends and totally bonded to each other.
In February, Ethel started chasing Gus fre…[Read more]

I looked at your video now. (Had to download it in order for it to show). It doesnt look too dramatic to me. I do agree with LBJ though, a respiratory infection in a rabbit is typically caused by bacteria and should be treated so it doesbt get the chance to spread to the lungs or ears (it’s all connected in there). The fact that his snot is clear…[Read more]

It sounds like you are doing great so far actually! My advice is to play hard to get a little bit. 😉
Meaning, don’t try to pet her just yet. Food does equal love in bunny language, so you will eventually transition from food lady to dedicated bunny worshipper. Sounds like she’s got you right where she wants you! 😉
Some buns take a while (even…[Read more]

Update: My rabbits just came back from their spay! Everything went fine :-D, and I got them some pet cones (“collars of shame”) but they keep taking them off! Are these pet cones needed though? The vet said that he glued it back together so it would be harder to chew. I also got them some pain medicine to help with the pain. Are there any other…[Read more]

I also immediately wondered if these are simply poops with fur inside them. It seems gross, but if you crack one open, you might find a lump of fur inside. It is a common cause of larger poops during a molt.

Hi everyone! Just recently found BB and thought it would be so useful to get some advice about my bunny, Alaska. I’ve had her for about 3 months now and she is already my everything. I adopted her from a non-profit organization that had received her from someone who found her in a parking lot (where she lived as a stray) with her mom and sister.…[Read more]

Too big poop that is well-formed doesnt seem worrisome, unless they’re full of hair? That they crumble easily means they’re dry and full of fiber, you often see that with buns that eat lots of hay. It’s not considered a bad thing. You could serve him his greens dripping wet for extra moisture. Moisture is important for smooth passage through the…[Read more]
