I like the idea of more litter boxes, especially since he has access to three rooms separated by a longish hallway. Do you think I should put hay in each litter box that I set up? What I have noticed is that his “incidents” happen most frequently in the room in which his pen and his current litter box are in.
As far as the loud sound idea, I…[Read more]

yeah, Dorian is a licker… his bedding and stuffed toys will get soggy from the love. I get soggy from him licking at times. I do tend to redirect it when it’s my pillows though as I prefer them not soggy!

I have plastic mat in the corners (stuff used for high traffic areas). that and a combo of toys, and things he can dig is really working for us.

Honestly sounds like my Wick, who understands my preference for the litterbox but acts against that pretty often. I have many pee spots on my carpet that I just dont attend to anymore because once it’s there, he usually doesn’t go over it again. Thus, I am resigned.
That being said, we have worked out a system of understanding that if I do catch…[Read more]

No word yet on the results of the blood test, unfortunately.
Hunny remains stable. She is maintaining a weight of 1.35 kg, the heaviest she’s been since she saw the specialist a few weeks ago.
We have been reducing the number of Critical Care feedings to see if we can trigger Hunny’s instinct to eat, but it has yielded mixed results. The few…[Read more]

Hi, thank you for responding!
Yes, he acts exactly the same whether he decides to mess the couch/rug or not. There are days that he will snuggle up with us on the couch and have no incidents.
And I have had three different (independent) vets confirm that he is neutered. When he doesn’t feel well (e.g., he had liver torsion a few months ago), he…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic herbal/medicinal remedies for rabbit anxiety? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 2 months ago
I think the most helpful thing is at least one small break in the car ride where there’s an offer of water, hay, veggies, and pellets. I don’t know of any guaranteed ways but if theres anything your rabbit finds especially comforting, like a small toy or blanket, that might be nice to include in the carrier. If there is anxiety about the carrier,…[Read more]

Did you or the vet check if he’s indeed neutered? Either way though, it is weird that he will go such a long time without incidents. Does he otherwise act normal when he stops using his litter box? My bun won’t use his box when he’s feeling unwell.

Yay! 🙂 I’m glad that she has stopped digging! Bummer about the digging box not working, though 😯 I didn’t think about her going to the bathroom in it, or the pee soaking through.
I hope everything else continues to work out! 🙂

I’m guessing Elmer does know how to groom. 😉
It’s just about trust. The hierarchy process is an interesting one. They have to trust each other for one to decide they are OK with being submissive. It sounds like they will definitely get there since they aren’t having disagreements that escalate. If one bun always runs away and doesn’t turn back…[Read more]

Hi everyone…I’m new here (been lurking for years though). I have yet to find a thread with a similar situation to mine.
I have a rabbit who is about 4 years old now (have had him for about 3 years). His previous owners used to keep a baby diaper on him because he would poop and pee everywhere. They had him neutered. Problem still persisted.…[Read more]

Thank you guys!! I’ve just started putting lots of toys out and it seems to be doing the trick! 🙂 I do have a big tile that I originally bought so she could cool off but she’s defiantly not interested in laying on it. So I can use that too in the places that are hard to block or just that I don’t want to block. I have tried to put digging boxes…[Read more]
