I agree with Wick, since it isn’t bleeding anymore and he isn’t limping, I would just keep an eye on it. These things happen sometimes and usually heal without incident.

She will probably be stressed at first being in a new environment with new people, but I think it’s worth it to make sure she’s safe and indoors. She’s not used to living outside in a hutch either so that would be similarly stressful to her anyway. I would take your friend up on her offer. 🙂

It’s hard to know a rabbit’s personality beforehand. While I believe American rabbits are known to be sweet, it really boils down to the individual rabbit. It’s good to meet with a rabbit before taking it home, as you can get a “test” of what he/she will act like.

Another day of naughty louie! I left him to run around in our room and when I returned he had peed on the bed, again! I further revoked his free-roaming privileges to only when I can supervise him, but when I left him in his pen, I came back and he had escaped! Every day is something new with this little dude. 🙄 🙄

That’s all it really is. It doesn’t meet showing standards. The only problem I could see, if his heels are severely turned inward, would be potentially developing arthritis when he’s older. Overall though, I don’t think it would affect his quality of life.

There is a difference between quantity and quality of life.  If you feel he has nothing but pain and suffering, it might be kinder to let him go.  I would try the suggestions DanaNM offered. I don’t think the alternative should be outside or caged…. why not allow him to exercise in your home? Most of us here have house rabbits that get at least several hours a day to roam in a large room or most of our homes.
