Last week Louie started peeing on my bed, so I had to leave him in the xpen when I wasn’t around to watch him, but he learned how to jump out of his xpen onto the window sill. I moved his xpen away from the window, and put a sheet over half of the top so he would have a cool place to chill out, since he can’t free roam the whole room to cool off…[Read more]

Thank you Pwincess for the recipe and Bam for the advice. I will definitely make sure they are dry all the way :).

I have made bunny cookies and dried them in a dehydrator instead of baking them. They need to be dry through and through or they will get moldy.

Heres a recipe I used awhile back:)
– 2 ripe bananas
– 1 apple or 1 c applesauce
– 1-2 carrots
– 1/2 c oats
– 1/2 c rabbit pellets
– 1 c whole wheat flourBlend all ingredients into a thick paste. Roll out the dough onto parchment to about 1/4 inch. Leave in dehydrator for 3-5 hours on the jerky setting.

I borrowed a dehydrator and I was wondering instead of using the oven, could i use the dehydrator for making cookies? Some of the bunny shops on Etsy state they dehydrator their cookies so I thought I could try. The highest temp is 158 F and the ingredients I would use would be hay, pellets, fruits and veggies as well as some oat for…[Read more]

Oh okay that makes sense. I’ll hold off and wait for sessions.
Should I hold off on stress bonding as well? And just stick to prebonding?

Asriel and Bombur replied to the topic Can I treat EC without a vet? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 2 months ago
The test is a bit expensive, but it’s definitely worth asking to be definitively tested for EC. Especially because the eye spot could be caused by a variety of things. My boy Bombur was tested for EC and we found out in 2 weeks. The vet would still probably put you on Panacur while you wait for the results, just in case it is EC.

Oh that’s so sad! Idk why I just assumed it would be more readily available in the US than in the UK where I am. I was trying to find info on how widespread it is over here but it’s all been v general info – since it’s readily available I’m guessing we have cases of it everywhere?
I had Tyb vaccinated against it 3 weeks after his first combined…[Read more]

You should contact a vet. If your bun is very young, this is a veterinary emergency. Young rabbits become dehydrated very quickly, and that is often fatal. The amount water you can make a bun drink is not sufficient, so vets give fluids subcutaneously or even intravenously. They would also treat the underlying cause with antibiotics. The cause can…[Read more]

hi, so my rabbit was acting fine today until the afternoon and he started not being as active. A few minutes ago we saw that he pooped out mucus covered poops the poop looked normal but I’m worried about the mucus should I take him to the vet? I did some quick research and it said to watch his poo and give him extra water any other suggestions?
thank you! -

Thanks for filling out the template!
Have there been any new smells or changes in the household? New pets, roommates, etc? Their bond was still relatively new, and sometimes changes like that can trigger disputes.
In any case, I think the best course of action would be keep them separated for a few weeks to give them time to cool off. Then you…[Read more]
