Thank you Pwincess for the recipe and Bam for the advice. I will definitely make sure they are dry all the way :).

I have made bunny cookies and dried them in a dehydrator instead of baking them. They need to be dry through and through or they will get moldy.

Heres a recipe I used awhile back:)
– 2 ripe bananas
– 1 apple or 1 c applesauce
– 1-2 carrots
– 1/2 c oats
– 1/2 c rabbit pellets
– 1 c whole wheat flour

Blend all ingredients into a thick paste. Roll out the dough onto parchment to about 1/4 inch. Leave in dehydrator for 3-5 hours on the jerky setting.

The test is a bit expensive, but it’s definitely worth asking to be definitively tested for EC. Especially because the eye spot could be caused by a variety of things. My boy Bombur was tested for EC and we found out in 2 weeks. The vet would still probably put you on Panacur while you wait for the results, just in case it is EC.

You should contact a vet. If your bun is very young, this is a veterinary emergency. Young rabbits become dehydrated very quickly, and that is often fatal. Ah yeah, I feel that. Knowing that whatever happens you will keep her is probably reassuring. And no harm in continuing to try since everyone seems to be tolerating it. When we got to that point with Bun Jovi (where I started scheming how we would keep two singles permanently) I actually felt more relaxed about the process because I felt less pressure.

But so far my pair are doing ok and Bonnie (the single) is settling in and getting more confident. 🙂
