Wow, I can’t believe those people. They agree to look after the rabbits, then they decide to back out and now they act like you’re inconveniencing them?? That’s infuriating, I’m so sorry. đ I’m glad you have your boyfriends parents to fall back on, too bad it’s such a long drive for them.

Hi there,
I have a 4 year old “big ugly” Netherland Dwarf named Bunard. Every morning he gets a 1/4 cup of pellets that he eats throughout the day and usually in the evenings I give him a big handful of lettuce with parsley and cilantro. He also gets a large handful of hay every morning in his potty, and treats that I know are too high in sugar,…[Read more]

You can feed a tiny bit of papaya, that won’t harm. Is this refusal to eat hay a new thing with her? Have you changed hay recently (bought a new bag)? Hay is a variable food type, palatability depends on many things such as when in the season the hay was harvested. Rabbits can be quite particular about what hay they like.
If you cut back on the…[Read more]

That would be totally fine too! They can still get enrichment from being around each other even if they arenât bonded. My boys are like that. One free roam in the bedroom and the other in the living room and thereâs a gate between them so they can interact.

There aren’t any professional services here or rabbit rescues to really ask for help, but I will definitely be using this forum more! It was so helpful to be able to ask someone with rabbits for help. My last question is if 3 of the 4 get along really well, would it be better to do a trio and then a single or should I split them evenly and do two…[Read more]

I’m sorry to hear that the vet stopped the meds. I’d say the meloxicam is her best chance. To prevent stomach trouble, melixicam can be combined with famotidine (unless ranitidine has become available in the USA again, in which case ranitidine would be the better option). Did the vet say why they stopped the meds? I thought you were going to try…[Read more]

Its totally fine to prebond for a long time and swap cages! In fact that might be great if you do want to bond a quad eventually. There are some members here who have a bonded trio, so hopefully their posts can be of help to you đ Depending on where you live, there might also be options for professional bonders too through places like the SPCA.…[Read more]

Ok, I will take a step back and make sure that I am doing what is best for my bunnies, thanks for being straight forward, I needed that. I will wait until after the French spay/neuter to start prebonding. With prebonding, I can only keep two of them really close to each other. They can all see, hear, and smell each other, but would it be…[Read more]

Yeah unfortunately getting him fixed isnât an option for her right now :(. Itâs probably too late at this point anyways, (not getting him fixed, but stopping the spraying by getting him fixed) because itâs likely become a habit for him.
Yeah I was thinking about some kind of covering. We probably have something that I could give her too. How would…[Read more] -

Hi @Coco&Romeo đ
It sounds as though they do have a stable bond at the moment, but I would watch them, for there have been some people on here who have had buns that are bonded fight. I think it would be fine to build a house for them, for they already seem alright with each other in the garden, which is their territory, so I don’t think they…[Read more]

I really do think youâre jumping ahead trying to plan a specific friend for each bun. You really canât predict who is going to get along until hormonal behaviors die down and they get used to new smells (fixed buns have a different scent after the surgery). I know you may have your heart set on a certain pairing, but especially in your case wit…[Read more]

Hii. I have two rabbits, male and female, both neutered and spayed. They live outdoors. They used to live in separate cages side by side at night and during the day they’re free in the garden. I haven’t done any bonding session between them two but they seem to be comfortable around each other already. They groom each other, they play together and…[Read more]

I found a cute little channel called BunnyMelv, but they only have a few videos up and I think they stopped posting a few years ago, however the videos they have up are short and cute to watch!

I am so sorry on your behalf, they sound very rude and that is definitely not something you should have to deal with. It’s good you have at least one possible plan, do you maybe have any other friends nearby who could pick up the rabbits and remove them from the other people’s care while your boyfriend drives down?
