Ok ill change up the location the next time I bond them. I’ll also take them for a car ride also.
So… I left them alone in their space to give them privacy (checking on them every 30 min or if I hear anything) and I just walked in on Zoe humping Buster without Buster feeling offended. She is currently grooming Zoe now. So I feel that they are w…[Read more]

Hey everyone! I’m getting my bunnies on the 13th and need names for them. I was planning on getting to know their personalities before naming them, but any ideas would be nice! The white one is a New Zealand bunny and the grey one is a Flemish giant (I assume both are mixed with another breed). Here’s photos of my two boys at the animal rescue. &#x…[Read more]

I just wanted to give an update, I was able to speak on the phone with her vet. It was a very helpful conversation. SHe was really concerned about my rabbit, as she doesn’t have hay right now, and is only relying on pellets. She was very kind as always, but somehow the conversation made me see another perspective, of how selfish i have been acting…[Read more]

The only other thing I notice when reading through your template again is that one bun was pretty submissive and timid. I had an issue with a bond where one bunny was very shy, and then they were seemingly bonded for 5 months and started fighting. I think in my case it was because the timid bunny started becoming more confident in the new home and…[Read more]

Ok thank you! I tried to make sure it ended well, but I could have done a little better at that. Also Rosie still chases at the bars of her cage with her tail up and I know that that is an aggressive thing. Is there anything that I can do to try and diminish this behavior. I think that the bonding will help but would putting food or toys on the…[Read more]

The bum is quite a sensitive area for bunnies. But in bonded pairs it shouldn’t trigger a tiff. So it sounds like they are not quite back to being bonded yet.
Can you take them to an entirely new neutral space for some longer sessions? Sometimes this can help get over humps.
Females are known for being more territorial, but there are plenty of…[Read more]

Sounds good to me. Just remember to always try to end on a positive note. I also like to have the same good behavior repeat a few times before dramatically increasing the amount of time or the strategy (so do the same kind of date a few times in a row). This “cements” the behavior.

Those pine pellets can get dusty for sure, so that would be interesting to test out. I’ve had them vary batch to batch.
Care fresh should be fine for her to sit directly on, you might just need to scoop out the wet areas more frequently if she’s getting soggy from them. Just keep in mind that pine shavings are not safe to use long term (but not…[Read more]

Also they stayed next to each other almost the entire time they were in the tub. They were loafed, head to tail for most of it. I thought it was kind of strange but maybe I’m wrong and it was perfectly normal.

Hello!
just wanted to give a quick update on how my rabbits situation has been going.
so I separated them for about 2 weeks with their homes next to each other so they knew the other was ok. I just recently put them back together in their neutral space. Last night lasted 15 min and they had a little tif but nothing too crazy.
I have them…[Read more]

I ended up being able to do a session with Rosie and Calliope today!! I started with an NIC grid box and I shook it around for a few minutes, but they didn’t need much, they just sat together for about 15 min and nothing negative happened at all. Since it was the very first session I was trying to get a feel for what works best for them so I put…[Read more]

Dorian hopped on my lap when I was checking out rabbits at the animal shelter… so we sort of bonded then and there. I think we just got lucky that way. That said we are definitely bonding deeper over time, I have had him for about 8 months now (it doesn’t seem that long!). Yesterday I came home after being gone for a few hours and got my first…[Read more]
