Oh yes I have a spayed female and neutered male that live together. The boy has not been near this bunny yet.

If you find you are not refilling her water often, that’s a good indicator that she is not drinking a lot. Getting water from veggies can be a cause as well. I have two rabbits who have very different levels of water consumption, so it’s hard to provide what you should be looking for.
Hydration can be really important to ensure things the body is…[Read more]

It may say no sugar added, but they get around this by using apple and grape juice as sweeteners, so it is still very high sugar. Straight cranberry juice is so tart that you wouldn’t enjoy drinking it straight.

Since you have only been doing sessions less than a week, I would say just keep doing what you are doing and be patient. It sounds like they are communicating without fighting, so you are on the right track.

I asked my dad to buy romaine lettuce for the bunnies (he does all the grocery shopping bc of covid) and he got romaine hearts. Is that okay? They look really light. -

@Louiethebunny I hope it goes super smooth! Can’t wait to see more pics!! & we will try speed dating once that’s an option with out having to drive really far, both the shelter and vet were very hesitant about Dorian bonding when I asked, so we will see.

Breakie started the topic water solution for Angora? in the forum DIET & CARE 6 years, 1 month ago
I have an angora who has some kidney damage from e cuniculi and drinks a lot of water. I was giving him water in a bowl, which was great from the POV that he could easily drink as much as he wanted. But, unfortunately, I have found he gets a crusty mats under his chin from his angora fur getting wet.
I got a small dog water bottle for him (as i…[Read more]

@ThorBunny That’s a good idea tho. I’ll look into it once I know my buns aren’t going to be peeing everywhere lol. Thanks!

@ThorBunny Oh good! Thanks! Yeah I was thinking about that lol. We feed my cats at about the same times everyday but they still bug us hours before their dinner! And meow in the hallway in the morning until someone feeds them lol. I wonder if the buns will be like this. 😆

For Thor’s area, we went to a carpet store and purchased a carpet remnant (cutoffs from other installations). It’s much cheaper than buying a new rug. We put blankets and towels over the carpet, and wash those every week or so.
Not sure if it will work if you’re expecting lots of accidents. There are good cleaning products like Nature’s Miracle,…[Read more]

Yes I agree with Wick that you don’t have to worry too much as long as they always have access to hay and water!
I feed pellets in the morning, and greens at night. Usually those are at 7am and 7pm, but if we’re out to dinner or with friends at night the greens can bee much later/earlier and same with the pellets for wakeup time. They adapt…[Read more]

I’m not good with rabbit breeds unfortunately. I am curious — is your female spayed? There are cases of impregnation through cage bars.

Thank you guys. The only thing the vet told me to give him was critical care, which I have to syringe feed since he won’t eat it on its own. Should I ask the vet for those type of medications you suggested Dana?

About 5 lbs. pearl grey underneath body. I was thinking satin and male. My female went right up to the cage and put her head down. I’m new to bunnies so don’t know much about the breeds.

I use a ceramic bowl. When I rescued her she was living outside in my backyard and I have no idea where she got water. I was thinking maybe she just got used to getting water from her veggies? I always put a lot of water on them before giving them to her. I did put a little juice from my watermelon today in her water and she drank it all down.…[Read more]

Not to detract too much from your primary question, but what type of water vessel are you using, and how often do you find yourself refilling it and/or cleaning it? Over 3 months, I would hope you’d see her drink water more than 5 times.
