    Hi @Salena

Agree with @Louiethebunny, she is going through bunny puberty, and you will have a lot of hormones thrown your way, I am wishing you strength and patience as you embark through the teenage weeks of rabbits. 🙂

When you get her spayed it should help, but not immediately, it will take a month for hormones to officially drain out of…[Read more]

Hi! Thanks for the updates! I bet we’d all love some pictures of Dixie if you’d like to share! She is definitely hitting bunny puberty, sometimes the roughest time for bunny owners. That’s the most common reason for her not-so-great litter habits, once she’s old enough, getting her spayed can really help with hormones, aggression, litter training,…[Read more]

It’s been a while since I have checked in with everyone! Everyone’s advice was great and very helpful! Dixie has changed so much over this last few weeks and she has her first vet visit and I learned quite a bit about her! First of all she is very healthy so for that I am grateful! I was surprised to find out that she is a bit older than I was tol…[Read more]

Judging by the appearance of his fur, I’d say there are some Satin genes in there. Minis can be up to 5lbs… but my guess is there is something else mixed in there anyway.

It’s fine to use them, but if you want more, and something more leafy, you can try to buy a whole head of romaine instead. Either way, it’s still yummy for them.

@DanaNM Thank you so much. I have bad anxiety, I wanna make sure the buns are safe.

Glad he’s doing better. 🙂 Bonding in itself is stressful, even without intentional stressing, so it sounds like he just needed a wee break. You could always keep working with the other buns while he recovers if you feel like it would be helpful, but a few days off might do everyone good.

@Bernard2020 , I would stop feeding that veg. Chances are it will be fine, but that is in the outbreak area. The risk from veggies is really not known, but since the virus is so resistant and “sticky”, it’s safest to just avoid veg from outbreak areas until your bun can be vaccinated.

@Moonlightbunny Salinas CA is in a safe part of the state, so…[Read more]

I just looked to see where my lettuce was grown. The brand is Andy Boy, it says it’s grown in Salinas California. This doesn’t look infected on the map. It’s okay to feed them? I can’t find where my carrots were grown the brand is “Farmers Market”, I just tried emailing. What a vague name…

I know that Louie doesn’t use the front of the litter box and only the back, so I put hay in the front and in his hay feeder, for Lola, I’m not sure about her litter habits so I just put some hay in the front and in her hay feeder until I find out how to waste the least for her. Some people keep their hay in a nearby closet because it’s a cool, dark space.

It’s Green Giant  and it says they wash it, trim it,  and it’s ready to eat. I also washed it before I gave it to her. It said it was picked after 7/29/2020. I tried calling to get the exact city but due to covid they aren’t taking calls so I emailed them. I’m really worried, I thought it said it was grown in Salinas CA but it’s just distributed…[Read more]

@Louiethebunny Thanks! Sounds good. Do you cover all of the litter with hay or just the front of the box? I’m still searching for a farm or farm feed store that sells hay. Not sure where I would put a big bale though. We have had mice in our garage before, so I’d be concerned about them going in my hay. :/ I’ll have to find a different spot in th…[Read more]

My read of the situation is the likelihood of getting a dead bird, mouse, snake, etc. is pretty low in hay. It’s not unheard of, but I personally have never gotten anything in my 3 years of constant purchasing. If you want to check, feel free, but I personally never do…. haha. Call it wishful thinking!

In terms of storage, I think the most…[Read more]
