My boy loves orchard grass it also smells nice It was difficult to make him eats hay. It hasn’t been long that he has consistently eaten hay and now I want to introduce him new hays. I will probably go with oat hay since there has been many reviews that buns love it alot.

@Wick  I thought of that as well, but Loki eats the same hay as Dawn, without problem.  I also bought a new bag, and got rid of the old.  She still had a seizure, so I dunno.

I’m stumped.  But her quality of life remains high, the spoiled little minx, and she’s well cared for. Best I can do.

It’s better to let them adjust first, you also don’t want them to see you as the person who forces them out of their comfort spot.

Now I’m tempted to buy some botanical hay… I’ve never tried other hays with my buns, but I’m really tempted to start buying the Oxbow timothy+orchard hay mix. Ditto. It does depend on the personality of your new bun, and regardless of how they act I would try to give one full day of settle in time at least. My first rabbit was much more shy than my girl, so for him I gave him a couple days to chill out, and for my new bun, she only needed one day to settle in before she was practically begging to come out.

Teeth sensitivity after filing is not unusual. You can also imagine the oddity if you suddenly woke up and your teeth were different lengths — there’s adjustment to potential sensitivity and then the foreign feel of your mouth. Getting a but is always very exciting, and packed up with tension on waiting to see what the bun would think of your home. For a bunny, it is scary being in a place, with new people and new smells. At midnight last night (10 hours ago), Hunny took some bites of pellets and did a more significant amount of poops. The poops were on the smaller side, again, but the quantity was good (over 20). Anesthesia recovery varies based on the rabbit and the specific anesthesia protocol a vet uses. I think the longest one of my rabbits had been “off” for was 5 hours, and then his general activity schedule was off for a while more.

Either is completely fine! It’s great that you’re trying to incorporate a variety of hay.
