I now have two bunnies, but back when I only had Louie and allowed him to free roam our room, (my bedroom) he would have his food and water bowls in his xpen along with litter box and some toys, and then he would use that as his home base and he would run around the rest of the room for fun, but ever since he started bed peeing we had to have…[Read more]

Louiethebunny started the topic Rabbit spitting out food? Choking?? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
Hi everyone, I haven’t checked the forum in a few days however I got back on tonight and something strange happened tonight during Lola’s dinner. She ate her veggies like normal (she loves them now that it’s been nearly 2 weeks) and when I gave her some pellets, she ate them up but I also noticed her “spitting” some out. I know rabbits do not have…[Read more]

If you can keep them out of fighting, then your method sounds good. 🙂 Wish I’d thought of that with my girls, good idea. Just keep a close eye out. Wishing you luck!

I put banana on their heads and I got a few short grooms from Theo and a 10 min groom from Calliope!! Is this enough to establish hierarchy or is there anything else I can try or do? I was planning on do it a few times everyday until I see them grooming on their own.

That’s great! Hope it works. It’s funny how hard it is to get them to eat something so important. It’s like kids and veggies I guess 😛

@Wick Thanks! I didn’t see him do it. I think he might be missing the box too. I’ll try to watch and see what’s happening.

Thank you for the info! It seems it’ll be ok to wait a bit then – I will definitely keep an eye out for any difficulty breathing. I haven’t heard any whistling or breathing noise so he seems like he’s breathing fine. I did mention I was worried about upper respiratory infection when I talked to the reception, so everything seems in line with what…[Read more]

Buntrio started the topic Megacolon?? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
I was researching bunny poop to see if my bunnos poops were healthy and learnt about megacolon. I highly suspect my bunny who died a year ago had megacolon. She had a lot of bad diarrheas through the years (she was four when she passed) and when we took her to the vet she’d lost half her body weight. She also had the typical large odd shaped p…[Read more] -

Did you see him make these poops perchance? Some or all of them may be him actually being in the litterbox and his butt hanging off the edge (so not completely in it), and this they fall down.
There may be an unwillingness to jump into the litter box as well, which can’t really be helped except making the lip lower, or putting the hay someplace…[Read more]

Why is my bunny doing this? There’s poops lining in front of the box. He wasn’t pooping much outside the litter box before. He likes to go in corners more. Is it because I didn’t clean it today? I don’t think the box is that dirty. Or is it territorial? The other bun is in a pen right next to him (can’t see each other). Maybe I should get him a…[Read more] -

If he has an upper respiratory infection, a couple days won’t make too much of a difference based on the current phase of symptoms. If he was having difficulty breathing, then yes, ASAP is definitely best, but at this stage it should be OK to wait a couple days until the vet appointment.

I understand your concern. Did you consult your vet about a possible respiratory infection? The only thing that makes me doubt that, is that you say his breathing isn’t audible. If he starts looking up though, call your vet immediately. When rabbits look up it means that they are having trouble breathing. I would just watch him closely, and see…[Read more]

Hi! Sorry, I feel like I’ve been posting a lot because Theo just came home and there’s been a few unexpected things I never encountered with my 4 year old Alfredo.
I’m concerned because he is sneezing (maybe once or twice an hour) and has a runny nose (matted wet fur, maybe whitish around nostrils). I’ve been reading so much about…[Read more]

This is WONDERFUL!!! 🙂 I am so happy for you! Semi-neutral is great! You are one good bunny bonder, too. I have been working on my trio for a month now – still in the neutral territory! I have no doubt that you will have a pair in no time. 😀

Hi @Christinae130
I think it is great how you are looking into options to make your bunny happy. Shows a good bun mom 🙂 Getting him a bun friend could result negatively, or positively. Bonding is very stressful for buns, but not if you find the right match. Is there a way you could take him on speed dates where he gets to do a meeting with…[Read more]
