I think cardboard boxes are great hideaways, esp if she is prone to destroying them, because they are easy to replace.
Another nice one is to use an upside down laundry basket with some doors cut out of the sides (and sanded down so the edges aren’t sharp).
If she isn’t spayed and is removing belly fur, that sounds more like nesting behavior,…[Read more]

I’m not sure, but he might be having trouble breathing, so I would call the vet and try to get him seen.

Awww, that’s a bummer, but don’t get too discouraged. Keep in mind he just had a big life change, and he is near another rabbit that he is not bonded with. Rabbits will have what’s called “referred aggression”, where they are actually feeling aggressive towards another rabbit, and then they lash out at whoever is closest (be it a human or their…[Read more]

Hey guys, I don’t think Pinky likes when I touch his things or put my hand in his cage. A few days ago he was digging in the corner of his pen so I decided to move his hay mat there so he doesn’t make more holes in the blanket and pull it up from the corner. I picked up his house and put the mat there and set the house back. I moved back to clo…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Discharge from rabbits eyes? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
Is it a clear discharge or is it gooey and white (or other color)?
Are the eyes red, are the eyelids red and/or swollen?
Are both eyes affected?
Is there any discharge from the nose and/or excessive sneezing?
If its a clear discharge you can start by rinsing the eyes with saline eyewash for humans. Pat cheeks dry (or dry-ish, rather), repeat…[Read more]

I would also recommend trying to mirror their pens for example, having both litter boxes as close as he can sing with food and water bowls just so they can see each other while doing those activities.

Louiethebunny replied to the topic can my bun eat cilantro? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years ago
My rabbit Louie LOVES cilantro, I feed it to him very often because we cook with it a lot too, and my Lola is still getting used to it but likes it as well.

My bunny has been getting the occasional discharge from his eyes. He seems to be acting the same as always so I’m not sure if this is a problem that I need to go to the vet or not?

My bunny has been making small noises that are almost equivalent to sneezes and whining. I’m not really sure what to do as I can’t currently take him to the vet. He also has be sitting up straight in his cage and shaking. I can easily pull him out of these things by calling his name and he’s still eating, drinking and playing normally so I’m not…[Read more]

You could take the blanket off when you start pre-bonding I’d say. 🙂

Yes! Rabbits can eat cilantro. Start small since it’s a new food.

@HipHopBunny Thank you so much!! I’ll wait then!
Oh nice! Thanks for the tips. 🙂
When should I take the blanket off to let them see each other?

HipHopBunny replied to the topic When to start prebonding? in the forum BONDING 6 years ago
I would say it is best to wait a month after the neuter happened to start pre-bonding, for hormones will still be ‘floating around’. After I’d say around 3-4 weeks of pre-bonding, then you could start sessions. 🙂
The stuffed animal trick you were describing is called the ‘stunt double’ and it works great with rabbits. 🙂 As…[Read more]

(Or they give it to the bunny for a few days for the bunny to get its scent on it, then give it to the other bun)

I got my bunnies on Sunday and they were neutered on Wednesday last week. Should I wait 4-6 weeks from last Wednesday to start prebonding? Or should I be starting now?
They’ve seen each other before a bit since they are from the same animal rescue. They were also in carriers next to each other in the car on the drive home (about 10 minutes). I d…[Read more]

About a month ago Alfred was rehomed to myself and my girl Karou (she was also a rehome and has been with me about 7 months). Karou was NOT happy and due to some health issues and not yet being spayed, Alfred is kept separate from Karou but in the same room and they can see each other.
Karou has been a little off so I took her to the vet for a…[Read more]

Karou absolutely loves pets. She melts into a puddle the moment I start petting her.
The vet said Alfred will need more shots for her syphilis so seems like it will be at least 2 more months (she’s not spayed yet) before Alfred’s ready to meet officially.
I do have them set up where they can see each other and I moved Alfred’s hay and food bowl…[Read more]
