Alfred’s not yet spayed because we’re still working on clearing up her syphilis and the vet said to wait.

I will mention that scolding or trying to “punish” a rabbit (not saying you’re doing anything abusive; just using the word!) don’t really work with rabbits. For her, it is probably very much hormone driven, and also remember it’s a way rabbits communicate with each other.

Hunny has been prescribed chloramphenicol. We have to give 0.6 ml every 12 hours for three weeks, starting tonight. If this doesn’t work, we will then try penicillin injections.

When rabbits are having trouble breathing, they will look up, or you can hear them really loudly. Most of the time when you hear them breathing loudly is because they have a respiratory infection.

Sitting upright, and the noises you describe sound like he is possibly wheezing.

I also do not line my litterboxes since they are pretty easily cleaned with a quick spray of vinegar-water. If a resuable liner was a suitable alternative for litter in general, that’d be awesome, but that’s definitely not the case, haha.

Okay thanks! There’s not a ton of flowers in the hay, they’re just sprinkled around in the hay. Should I try to remove the roots and twigs if I see them or are they fine?

Clover flowers are fine. All clover hay is too rich, but a few flowers are just tasty and good. My bun gets a few clover flowers now and then because they grow in the garden near his run.

Sounds like hormones to me! I would just hold on and wait for those hormones to settle down!

I don’t use liners at all, the most sustainable option! :p
