Well, I’m guessing you know, this sounds like petit mal seizures, a form of epilepsy. It can affect human kids and they often “grow out” of it during adolescence, without medical intervention.

Generally speaking, when a young-ish otherwise healthy bun experiences (brain) seizures, the prime suspect will be e cuniculi.

    E cuniculi is a single cell…[Read more]

This is a bit tricky. Your vet dlesnt seem too worried about the “diarrhoea” – probably due the fact that your bun did recover swiftly. A rabbit that has what is known as “true diarrhoea” is very very sick and will need vet care. So your bun probably had what is known as “gut dysbiosis”, which is a non-life threatening condition due to a…[Read more]

If Ginger shows signs of sadness like not eating you might want to try bunny introductions to see if it helps.

How long did you have misty before she passed?

Hi! I have a bunny of 2 yrs. He was playful hour ago until I noticed he stops moving and just stands where he usually sleeps. I picked him up and put him on my bed and just stands there still where I put him. He barely move but when he does, he moves a little and stops moving again. He also twitched occasionally like big hiccups. There is a time…[Read more]

My rabbit started choking last spring and got her molars trimmed and it resolved the problem. She started choking again October and we got her molars trimmed Oct 26.

She came home and choked and choked Nov 5, Nov 13 and yesterday 2 chokes in a row.

We went to a specialist in the area who said one of the teeth had already grown out sideways on…[Read more]

The end of piece of hay can look like a booger, I know from experience. Eventually the vet pulled it out and it was a think piece of hay.

    Hi there!

My Lionhead bunny is still getting clumps of Cecotropes that are wet and shiny.  He is a 5 3/4 lb bunny. I’ve given him only 3 Oxbow Timothy treats in the past week or so. These are tiny round ones that look like a cheerio but made from hay. Between both of my bunnies they get 1/4 – 1/2 cup of Oxbow Timothy pellets per day and un…[Read more]

hi! so i called the vet and explained the situation, he asked me to continue the antibiotic and then he would prescribe me another one (?). i told him i didn’t feel comfortable continuing azithromycin as he didn’t react well to it, so he recommended Baytril (which he had before, but my bun really hates the taste of it). if i decide not to do…[Read more]
