Did the “fluid” treatments help when they were given? Does he have any white chalky swirls in his urine? When he had a urine analysis, do you recall what he was tested for?

I triple ditto the responses. I had a bunny who had this — My very first actually, but I don’t recall it being on the nose – maybe elsewhere on the face or lips (so long ago). It’s a very treatable but does have to get treated by a vet. 🙁 The House Rabbit Society has a large vet list — maybe you can find one somewhat near. I’m sorry y…[Read more]

I’m not that good with breeds but wanted to drop in and say – she is gorgeous, what a beautiful bunny. 🙂 You’ll have to give her lots of pets and cuddles for me!

Hi @Danny
How old is she? Spaying a female rabbit is always a good thing to do, as you said, litter issues, territorial behavior, overall not fun to be around. She may not be showing this now, but once she hits puberty, *dry laugh* they are pretty bad teenagers.
Females also have an 80% chance of uterine cancer, and false pregnancies. Been…[Read more]

I know your rabbit has been going through a lot and I haven’t been able to catch up on the topics, so I’ll offer my typical thought until I get the details!
The most straightforward possiblity when this is seen in a healthy rabbit is that there’s fur encased in the poops. Anything like that seem possible?

Looks like a Flemie/ flemie mix to me. Though he would be small for a flemie I think so I’d guess he might be a mix or still growing.

Hi
My rabbit has had a long boutof stasis and been bloated most days sometimes for 12hours or more.
She seems much better, eating normally except when she’s bloated
She’s doing 200 poops a day now lost of them are normal. Once a day they come out strung together by brown mucus.
She is doing rather large droppings one of them today was an inch…[Read more]

My cousin’s rabbits are unneutered; two of them became super aggressive (beating on the younger one until he bled unfortunately) but the one was no more grouchy post-puberty than he was before. Only one of them lived inside but good gravy he was a peeing machine! He felt the need to mark EVERYTHING and boy did it stink.
I know this is less…[Read more]

As a thought, could you potentially try fostering a rabbit, or adopting an old rabbit, so that you have that experience but not that ten year commitment? Then if it absolutely does not work out, you can move the rabbit on and/or only have it for a year or two.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Pooping on bed in the forum BEHAVIOR 6 years, 1 month ago
The bed is a very soft and scent-latent place, and this is really potent for rabbits who have such a great sense of smell and a lot of their survival instincts are dependent on whether things smell like them or not. There are a lot of rabbits that are litterbox adherent every but the bed it seems. In those cases, having a litter box on the bed may…[Read more]

Hi all, I rescued a rabbit over the summer and am curious as to her breed. She’s just over 8 lbs, and probably a year or two old (?), so I think she’s done growing but not sure. Either way, she’s definitely one of the larger breeds. Her fur is super smooth compared to my cousin’s New Zealands and it slots back into place pretty quickly, so I’m…[Read more]

Hi all,
I REALLY appreciate everybody’s replies and comments as this definitely has been worrying me for the past 2 months.
Bam – Thanks so much for your thoughtful reply. It definitely looks like I may need to cut out greens if the greens keep causing Snowball’s poops to go moist. Snowball is relatively good weight (definitely not o…[Read more]

@HipHopBunny, thanks so much for your response! I have been picking up the poop and placing them in the litter box – I will continue to do so, and try to keep my patience! I am looking into rabbit savvy vets and trying to get her neutered within the next 2 months. I hope it will help! Thanks again!!

Hi @Anis
I’m so sorry you are going through this problem. 🙁 Spaying will definitely help, this could be her way of showing that this is her territory, since you moved, she might feel as though she needs to establish that. What could help is to pick up her poop and put it in her litter box so that she gets the message that that’s where she…[Read more]

Danny replied to the topic Rabbit consistently poops NEXT to litter box in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago
As an update – I ended up blocking off the area that she likes to poop in entirely EXCEPT for the litterbox itself and she’s been doing perfectly fine. A larger litter box would probably have done the trick, too; when I opened that area up again she started going next to it as well as in the box so I guess she really had just designated that whole…[Read more]

Danny replied to the topic Highly considering a bunny, but worried about the smell in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 6 years, 1 month ago
My rabbit Audrey-Hepburn is unspayed, but she doesn’t really smell, even though we live in a carpeted apartment. It probably helps that she’s the only rabbit in the house (so not super territorial). She’s pretty well litter trained too, and I use paper shreds (from junk mail and old print outs and the like) as litter which does need to be changed…[Read more]

I recently flew from CO where I got my bunny and spent the last few months there to my NYC apartment. The flight went really well and she’s adjusting quite well. She is 5 months and is litter trained – didn’t have a problem at all in her new space. However, she is constantly pooping on my bed when she is on it. She hasn’t peed on it at all, just…[Read more]
