MyBunGusGus started the topic New Anti-Social Bun? in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 11 months ago
I’ve adopted a few rabbits from different situations – I had GusGus who was super social and all he wanted was human attention, GiGi who came from an abusive past and would do her own thing, and my mom and sister have had rabbits who were loving/social.
I recently began fostering-to-adopt Moxie, a 1 year-old dwarf bunny girl who knows absolutely…[Read more]

To be fair, he was deeply concerned it was doing irreparable neurological harm to her ever time. He didn’t want her to suffer. And honestly? She’s acting like she’s several years younger, so it’s an easy forgive. She’s a fighter, she is. When it’s her time to go over the bridge, the Reaper is gonna take some lumps.
And thank you all for y…[Read more]

Captain Jackie started the topic Frequency of UV lamp use in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 11 months ago
Hello! I recently purchased a bird UV lamp (recommended by my vet who I now can’t seem to get ahold of, somewhat troubling) and I was wondering what the frequency should be? At most I would assume every day, but does anyone know if there’s a minimum per week? My buns live with my boyfriend because I’m not allowed pets at my current place (whic…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Lazy bunnies? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
I think that bigger bunnies can be a bit more lazy. Bertha would have maybe 1 or 2 bursts of activity a week. LOL She was also very into chewing but not so much zooming.
Some of it might also be timing. Late at night seems to be peak zooming hours for mine, a few hours after they’ve had their salad. They usually take a post-salad nap, then wake…[Read more]

Oooh yeah Bun Jovi does this too. A temporary solution was to take a piece of cardboard and then clamp it over the edge with those heavy duty plastic alligator clamps you can get at the hardware store. That way he would just chew the cardboard instead of the box (it was kind of loud though).
Then I got a heavy duty dish bussing tray to use for…[Read more]

Thank you, yeah I think some more serious pre-bonding will help too. After giving Bonnie some serious cheek rubs, there is no way we are giving her up.

Moonlightbunny66 replied to the topic Rabbit Scratching – Getting Worried in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago
Looks like cute chilling and grooming to me. If he is kicking inside his ears a lot and shaking his head side to side it could be ear mites. You can take your phone flashlight and look inside his ears to see if it’s really dirty and scabby deep in it.
I noticed my Pinky kicking inside and shaking his head a lot multiple times a day everyday, so I…[Read more]

I’m sorry things didn’t go in a positive direction. Was still worth a try though, so don’t feel bad. With enough time, I think they can get there, Bonnie just needs to gain more confidence. 🙂
Modifying the setup so they can be closer together would help a lot I bet.

Gosh I’m so sorry to ask for you help again. It’s never ending the problems she’s having.
My rabbit is still very poorly. Still not eating. The bloating has stopped since stopping the cisapride, but she’s still not eating. I’m wondering if it could be this lump causing her pain. She won’t stop scratching it.
Has anyone seen anything like…[Read more]
