Honestly they’ve been doing so wonderfully, you would prob be fine to just keep going. Since you haven’t had any problems when moving to new locations (or really at all), my hunch is that it’s going to be smooth sailing. Def take them in the same carrier to the vet, that will be extra cementing!

When you move them to their final home, either give…[Read more]

Hi everyone, today as I was sitting around, I saw Louie trying to mount Lola. I’ve never seen this behavior, and there was no mounting during bonding. Are they not fully bonded? Should I separate them? Lola was totally unfazed and neither got aggressive and it ended quickly so I did not separate them.

They were snuggling and Pinky decided to flop right beside Muffin! It warms my heart. My two rescue bunnies love each other! I’m glad they’re happy. They keep grooming each other. So lovey dovey!

They are not in a hutch in the picture. They were in the pen I brought them home in.  Thank you all for your advice.

I don’t know if it’s just my bunny, but he won’t let me brush him. I’ve bought so many different brushes for him, from the HairBuster to just a regular dog and cat flea comb. I ended up just lint rolling him, and he tolerates that very well. The frequency of grooming sessions depends on how much their shedding, but for starters I would recommend…[Read more]

shasbun replied to the topic Highly considering a bunny, but worried about the smell in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 11 months ago

They pee pretty frequently, mine pees about once each hour. The smell depends on what litter you use and how frequently you clean their litter box.  I found that Yesterday’s News Non- Clumping cat litter is really great for odor control, but it is hard on bunny feet, so I would recommend something soft like CareFresh on top. The only time…[Read more]

This happened to my bunny too! The bald spot grew bigger and new fur started coming in. It’s probably just shedding, but if you do notice other things take her to the vet.

I just finished with all of the bunny dates, and they were not great. None of them went well. They all reacted pretty much the same and a different bunny started a scuffle within the first few minutes. At this point, I am just going to let the pair be happy together and try and get Rosie and Gwen to be friends.

What I have done for prebonding so…[Read more]

Sometimes it’s that the bunnies are kicking out their poop when they hop out of their litter box, not necessarily that they’re pooping outside. I would recommend getting a closed cat litter box or any litter box with high sides if you don’t already have one, since that would help if they are kicking their poop out. Also try putting the litter box…[Read more]

Thank you HipHopBunny! I’m sure your buns will come around eventually. 😀 Muffin is licking Pinky’s back as I’m typing lol!

*jealously reading* Am I going to be reading about another easy bond while my ladies are still not bonded? 😯 😆 This is all just so unfair! 😆

I’m glad your boys love each other. 😀 You are doing an excellent job at bonding them too! 😉

I completely agree with LBJ10. I don’t want to be rude, but they’re living conditions aren’t very great. Rabbits do better indoors and they also seem to be in a hutch that’s too small. Wire flooring can cause sores on rabbit feet. A rug would be much better. And I don’t see exactly what’s going on, but they seem to have too many pellets and not…[Read more]

Ouch, I’m sorry you are going through this tough situation. 🙁

What is their litter box? Right now for my buns’, I have a short one, which they constantly pee and poop out of. I heard that getting a closed cat litter box though would help with that. 🙂 Maybe, if you don’t have one already, you could try getting one and see if it helps? What…[Read more]

Rabbits can shed in patches, without anything being wrong. As long as the skin is nice and smooth, not inflamed, red, scabbed or overly dandruffy, this is nothing to worry about. Within 1-2 weeks you’ll see new growth of hair, like a fine peachy fuzz.

I’ll see if we can move this thread!

Actually, if I do 48 hours it’ll have to end at like 9:15am tomorrow for the vet at 9:30am. So that’s missing about three hours. Hmmmm… And I’m not sure what that will change with each other, they’re gonna be smelling different. I could put them in the same carrier? I don’t want to ruin what they have right now though.
