@Bu20055 they kinda remind me of terrarium covers. Those might work too? Probably easier to find.

Thanks guys! Yeah it seems like his undercoat and I’ll watch and see if it gets lighter again for winter. Fluffy boy!
That’s so cute Bam. I find it so interesting to see! That looks very similar to how Muffin’s coat is shedding right now. Super cute. <3
princedorian hmmm that’s interesting. My muffin has some very light grey fur that also lo…[Read more]

Hmmmm, it’s hard to know. Those poops don’t look so huge that they raise strong alarm bells for me, but it is something to keep an eye on. If she continues to have chronic stasis issues, then Megacolon could be at play.
With them being only 3 months old they should be getting more pellets. Many recommend unlimited at that age. If she is a…[Read more]

It makes sense to me that it could be seasonal and in the spring, and some buns are late bloomers who don’t show many hormonal behaviors right away. The main reasons for neutering are behavioral and litter box habits (plus un-neutered boys can be so stinky!) because testicular cancer is pretty rare in bunnies (unlike uterine cancers in females,…[Read more]

I don’t have much experience with neutering, but my bun used to hump and circle all the time, regardless of the season until I got him neutered. Of course every bun is different, but it may be a good idea to take him to the vet. Hope this helps.

@Bam thanks! I’m trying to train him to not react to rapid movement from Shasi.
@ snowballsmomma- thanks! I think he’s adorable too! And no, I didn’t read that article before and it was really helpful.

@Nina S – first of congrats on getting a bunny! Is that him in your profile pic? So cute! & alfalfa is fine given he is just 9 week old, around 5 – 6 months is about when you should start slowly switching over to Timothy hay and adult pellets. That said as LBJ10 mentioned if he does have a lot cecotropes mixing in timothy with his alfalfa and…[Read more]

Hey shasbun – First of all, your bun in your pic is so adorable!!
So I can’t say I have had this situation before, but I have read a lot a stories about bunnies and dogs together and how they can be a worrisome mix. Unfortunately, some dogs like to rough-house, and bunnies are prone to being anxious creatures that can have heart attacks at the…[Read more]

I agree it depends a lot on the personalities of both the dog and the bun, mostly the dog. I’ve had a dog and rabbits, but the dog was 3 years old and had had quite a bit of obedience training before the first rabbit came. She was a GSD, a breed where obedience has been selected for.
What triggers most dogs is rapid movement. You must be able to…[Read more]

I would introduce some nice staple veggies like romaine or green leaf which hardly cause stomach troubles to begin with, and then slowly add in some other greens. With the pellets you will want to transition slowly off of young rabbit food, there are a lot of transition food plans and such that people like to follow, ex week one is 1/4 adult and…[Read more]

So far I don’t think so! Bun Jovi tends to bite cage bars and zip ties and hasn’t been able to get his teeth on them to mess with them. Depending on how you oriented the square, you could have a completely flat side facing the bun, and then they wouldn’t even be able to get a hold on the edge very easily. The mesh is so small they can’t get a grip…[Read more]

I have two Holland Lop does, 3 months old. Both eat the same diet and are very good eaters. (I’ll list their diet below in case that helps.) However, their poops are very different. I’m worried one of them may be showing signs of megacolon.
As I monitor each day, it’s easy to tell their droppings apart. Willow has typical small, round, darker…[Read more]
