Spring mix is fine, but you’ll want to check the ingredients. If it contains things your bunny hasn’t had before, then you will want to introduce it slowly to make sure everything agrees with them. Yeah, it sounds like something is going on every now and then. You can try cutting out the fruit to see if that puts a stop to it. If it continues, you might need to look into this further.

These things happen. Obviously, it’s better if a callous doesn’t form, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Just keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t start to become irritated. Sometimes people put bag balm or a similar ointment on the callous to soothe the area and keep it from cracking.

I do think if your vet is the most experienced one in the region and they don’t think it’s wise, then it’s best to go with their opinion on it. But I will get some numbers from the rescue and our vet and get back to you.

You should not separate them since they are now bonded. It could disrupt the bond, and the marking would probably start again once she was there.

I’m thinking all the marking is due to them being a very new bond. Usually things settle down with time… Are you 100% sure they are fully bonded?

I think it would be most important to consider what will happen to the rabbit once you return to in-person classes (and beyond). I think it’s normal to want to get a rabbit when you are home all the time, but rabbits can live 9-12 years, so thinking about care for the rabbit for it’s entire life is very important.
