Louiethebunny started the topic something strange in litter box in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 10 months ago
Hi everyone, today I woke up after a night of Louie and Lola free roaming, and when I went to check on their litter boxes and xpen, I found something strange in one of them. I’m concerned and I’ve never seen anything like this in their litter boxes before.

Noodletherabbit awwww maybe our bunnies have something similar going on. This is the first time I’ve seen this poop from him, but I don’t always look through the litter box.
It could be gas, I’m not sure. :/ I just made a vet appointment for Friday and hopefully we’ll get all these issues sorted out.

Hi, I have two bunnies, one is just about a year old now and he was fixed at 4 months, the other is 7 months, also fixed at four months old.
mom in a complete rut with what to try next with them. During the day their litter habits are almost perfect other than a couple poops here and there but I feel like that’s probably normal just from when t…[Read more] -

Louie started the topic extremely itchy ears 🙁 mites? infection? HELP in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 10 months ago
My bun has been itching it’s ears. I would even itch them for him sometimes because I could see that he couldn’t reach where he wanted to.
But it’s been getting more and more noticeable. He’s even shaking his head now before he itches. I’m worried he will get head tilt. I checked his ears for mites, some people say only a microscop…[Read more]

I used to order the big 50 lb boxes of Oxbow from Dr. Fosters and Smith, and was pretty happy with it. Not the best, but better and cheaper than the pet store’s stock. I think they have been absorbed into another company but not sure which.
My fav online hay was Sierra Valley Hay, but unfortunately they are no longer in business. Too bad because…[Read more]

I’ve used Rabbit Hole Hay a bunch of times and have never been disappointed by the quality and it’s about the same price as SPS. I’m currently using their mountain grass hay which is soft and the buns love it. I’m also currently using timothy hay I got from a brand called Brytin on Chewy that’s good quality, and reasonably priced as far as bulk h…[Read more]

Thanks Wick, looks like I got the numbering backward, sorry! 1st cut of your description fits perfectly. I have been pretty happy with standlee hay that I have gotten as it is always fresher than the times I tried SPS (and a lot cheaper), but they don’t specify cuts. Maybe since all I want is a little extra of the softer grasses to mix in, I’ll…[Read more]

Every hay provider will naturally have fluctuation in quality. If you know your rabbit enjoys/does not enjoy certain cuts of timothy hay, going with a provider that “locks in” the cut you get is beneficial, like SPS, so you know at least you’re always getting soft leaves or hard stems, depending on the cut you choose. 1st cut is actually the cut…[Read more]

If you notice when she produces cecotropes you can try offering them to her. Or you can take the cone one while you are supervising her and only put it on if you see her messing with her suture.

Just realized Dorian’s been living with us for a full year now! Can’t believe it’s been that long!! So here is a photo of him a few days before I took him home from the shelter and one from yesterday where we had a little bun party for him after he got tired out from playing with his new toys. Also since I am a proud bun parent I just want to add…[Read more]
