It’s only been a day or so. Things are probably still irritated. The dark spots look like scabs and the pink “rash” might be from the clippers. I wouldn’t worry too much yet. It doesn’t look angry or infected. Give it a little time and see how it looks.

Typical rabbit/small animal cages are very small, but if you are looking for a temporary “cage” setup, a dog crate would be a better option because the size is better, however, an xpen would be the best for the bunny long term.

Hi! My rabbit got spayed at 2pm yesterday. This is her incision now. I’m worried bc of the pink spot above the incision. She went back to the vet today around 10am and the vet checked up on her and everything seemed okay. I am still worried though. It is 8pm now and I don’t know if it looks normal. I’ve been closely monitoring her all day and s…[Read more]

Does he do this when you’re in his space? Or just any time he is near you?

It’s good you are getting her in to the vet tomorrow. It does sound like her teeth are bothering her, or possibly early GI stasis. Sometimes molting can cause some tummy trouble.  Can you offer her some pellet mash? Or critical care? If her teeth are hurting her she might eat pellet mash willingly. If she doesn’t, syringe feeding her could help…[Read more]

Thank you for all the help! Luckily he agreed to scheduling an appointment so we’ll get to take her in tomorrow morning. I’m just worried because we just now got her some new spring mix and also some different veggies like mint and cilantro (those were the only available atm) but she just chins all of them and moves away :/ I’m trying to get her t…[Read more]

    Hi

I recently got a bunny from a shelter. I was told that his previous owners did neglect him a lot, and it took a lot of work from the shelter staff to get him used to people. He wasn’t neutered when we got him, so he was very grunty and thumped a lot when we entered his space. After his neutering, his grunting and thumping have reduced…[Read more]

You won’t be able to do any successful bonding until everyone is fixed. That goes for the male too. Make sure to keep them seperate with double barriers so they can’t bite each other through the bars and so your male doesn’t impregnate the baby. They can get pregnant as early as 12 weeks of age.

She sounds very happy indeed! Some bunnies are very outgoing like that!

I’m just going to add that since writing this I have just sat down on the floor with her and she has done 2 massive bunny flops right next to me (followed by much smoothing from me!) so shes clearly feeling relaxed and may well just be a super friendly and relaxed rabbit!

hiii, i’m new here. i decided to create an account because i’m having issues with my bunnies. First off, i have two bunnies (Maybelle, female, spayed about 2 months ago and Cosmo, male, yet to be neutered). I originally had Maybelle first, then decided to adopt Cosmo to keep her some company. They bonded almost immediately, and have been very…[Read more]

Hey!  We adopted a new rabbit on Wednesday this week so very early days here!!  We have had a rabbit before (he died back in Aug 2019),  just the one though so were certainly not experts!  He died really suddenly too so I am pretty anxious about everything!

Firstly, our previous rescued bun was super timid and nervous, it took months for him to…[Read more]

Hello!  I am conflicted between getting an X-Pen or Cage. The space I have available is not much so I feel like the cage would be a better fit because of its size (which is pretty spacious) and my rabbit is a dwarf. But I’ve seen so many videos saying cages aren’t the best and X-Pens are the way to go, and I like them, I just feel like the set u…[Read more]
