I’m just going to add that since writing this I have just sat down on the floor with her and she has done 2 massive bunny flops right next to me (followed by much smoothing from me!) so shes clearly feeling relaxed and may well just be a super friendly and relaxed rabbit!

hiii, i’m new here. i decided to create an account because i’m having issues with my bunnies. First off, i have two bunnies (Maybelle, female, spayed about 2 months ago and Cosmo, male, yet to be neutered). I originally had Maybelle first, then decided to adopt Cosmo to keep her some company. They bonded almost immediately, and have been very…[Read more]

Hey! We adopted a new rabbit on Wednesday this week so very early days here!! We have had a rabbit before (he died back in Aug 2019), just the one though so were certainly not experts! He died really suddenly too so I am pretty anxious about everything!
Firstly, our previous rescued bun was super timid and nervous, it took months for him to…[Read more]

Hello! I am conflicted between getting an X-Pen or Cage. The space I have available is not much so I feel like the cage would be a better fit because of its size (which is pretty spacious) and my rabbit is a dwarf. But I’ve seen so many videos saying cages aren’t the best and X-Pens are the way to go, and I like them, I just feel like the set u…[Read more]

I’m always a bit skeptical of home remedy type things, because you never really know if the bun just naturally fought off the infection on their own. I can’t really imagine apple cider vinegar doing anything…
I’m not familiar with GSE, but I did find a published paper on it having a benefit in wound healing in rabbits. If the echinacea is…[Read more]

I’ve come across some articles/blogs where people have use echinacea, GSE, and a few other natural remedies to help URI.
I have a few questions and wondering what experience others have had. I thought this might help Charlie. Poor little thing must have had discharge last night and wiped it on her face. Had to wash her face this morning for h…[Read more]

Dog metacam is 1.5 mg/ml. 0.47 ml for a 1.42 kilo rabbit, gives a dose of 0.5 mg meloxicam per kilo body weight.
This is a dose well within what Medirabbit suggests. Medirabbit quotes a dose of 0.3 mg meloxican per kilo body weight up to 1.5 mg per kilo body weight for severe…[Read more]

Okay thank you so much! He’s on .47 ml per day and he’s 1.42 kg. It’s the “metacam oral suspension for dogs”. Does this seem right? It’s for mouth pain after the trim and for minor sores on his hocks, which the vet says is probably due to decreased activity from dental pain, and him sitting around putting pressure on the hocks more.

Since the dose is probably not extremely high, it is ok to give the dose at 7 pm. I have a rabbit that is on long term metacam, and its not always possible to administer the med at the same time every day. Rabbits metabolize meloxicam rapidly.

So Blaze just got a molar trim yesterday and he has metacam for the next few days. He also had metacam for the past week ish leading up to his trim. He had been getting it at 7 pm in his veggies everyday. Last night he wouldn’t take it on his veggies, so I had to struggle with him to get him to take it and I finally got him to take it around 1…[Read more]

There are no good home remedies for chocolate poisoning. You should contact a vet. How long is it since she ate the chocolate? How much did she eat?
