11 weeks is pretty young, I agree with you on that! But who knows with adding another bun into the mix. Are you 100% sure on their age? They seem older than 11 weeks to me in their pictures. But maybe they are just fast-developing!

I’ve had baby bunnies together before and this has never happened, so it’s surprising that this would happen at such an early age. We have checked multiple times now and have confirmed they are both females. But yes I’m hoping that bonding goes well once they are spayed and we can just get things back to normal hopefully.

You wouldn’t think rabbits would need a night light, but mine always liked having the light on. 🙄

LBJ10 replied to the topic Weird hair pulling behavior in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 8 months ago
Hmm… the fur pulling is concerning. Are you able to look down there? There could be something irritating the area and he’s trying to alleviate it. In fact, humping can be a sign of bladder problems. You wouldn’t think that would be the case with an 8 month old unneutered bun since humping behavior is pretty normal… but something is doesn’t…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic How to waste less hay and feed rabbits enough? in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 8 months ago
My problem is floor hay is somehow better than box hay. Of course, not all of the hay dragged out onto the floor gets eaten… so yeah, lot’s of waste. I end up picking it all up when it’s time to vacuum.

Shooot that would drive me nuts haha! Is there any kind of light in the room at night? I’ve started keeping one on for mine and they definitely thump less. And yeah, poop and litter fly out when Fresno does it too. A nice clean floor after vacuuming never lasts long around here.
The safety boops really do sound so cute, Fable is precious and I…[Read more]

Based on what you described, I would definitely not recommend it, for basically all of the reasons you have already identified. 😉
As long as your bunnies are getting enough exercise inside, they really don’t need to go outside to be perfectly happy. In fact, it could be harmful and frightening to them, since you mention there are lots of…[Read more]

“Safety boops”?!! How adorable and amazing. What a great idea. 🙂 <3
He did come from such a horrible situation, but I do hope he continues to calm with time. Maybe some chamomile or lavender would help?

Thank you for rescuing a bun and planning to spay her. 🙂 It would be best to wait until after her spay. Hormones in intact females can make it very hard to bond them properly, so it would likely be lots of stress without much pay-off.
She’ll need 2 weeks to heal, and then it can take a bit of time for hormones to settle after spaying, so if you…[Read more]

I hope this is under the correct topic…anyway!
I’m in need of assistance. I want to take my rabbits (Blossom and Thumper) outside but I don’t have enough money for an X-pen so I was thinking of using a harness and leash BUT I live in the country where there are wolves, coyotes, bears, porcupines, (at night) and such and every so often someone’s…[Read more]

Fable consistently thumps between 2-4AM for at least one elongated episode! Prior to coming to me, I believe her foster might have kept dogs and cats too and only had 1hr of free roam. Before that, I think I was told she came from hoarder. She has a small scratch on her nose where fur doesn’t grow in, so some sort of face injury happened and she…[Read more]

Hello!
I have a dwarf/rex bunny at home right now she is spayed and super lovely. I wanted to get her a friend so she doesn’t seem so lonely all the time. I was searching online and a lady was looking to give away her rabbit (because she is unable to care for her anymore). So I decided to adopt her rabbit she is around 3years old, dwarf ,and not…[Read more]

Definitely not zoomies, because once he’s done freaking out he stands still with fearful eyes and his ears and tail perked up like he’s on the lookout and if I’m not careful, like if I move suddenly, it’ll sometimes set him off again. He can be in his litter box eating hay one second and the next he’s sprinting out of it and crashing into the…[Read more]

Is it potentially just zoomies? My Fable, who came from a not-so-great original environment was so fearful when we brought her home. I actually discussed with the other BB moderators about potential respiratory assessments because her breathing rate was always so high and she always seemed super super wired and nervous. It’s been a little over a…[Read more]
