    Hello,

So I occasionally use digize essential oil topically(NOT defusing or anything). I just wasn’t sure if it’s essentially the same thing that I apply it to myself, and the smell is around the air from the application and she smells it.

I know diffusing could potentially be dangerous but is it harmful to my rabbit if she just smells the scent…[Read more]

Thanks Wick – that’s interesting to hear that your Fable also breathes fast and lounges as well (while still being healthy).  I definitely wish I knew more about their backstory but I unfortunately don’t have much.  I tried to ask the foster team if she was doing this shaking while she was at the shelter the past few months, but unfortunately t…[Read more]

I do not know if there is an “age cap” for breeding viability, but he is at a mature-enough age and she is definitely fully developed, so if she is still able to reproduce then yes, if they had access to each other, it is possible she is pregnant. Again, there may be an age-cap so other users can speak to this if they know. A brief google search…[Read more]

I also wonder about circumstances. She sounds like my Fable, who is a very fast breather and often lounges. She came from not-ideal environments prior to coming to me and is generally a very anxious rabbit. It’s possible that this is this rabbit’s general demeanor, though evaluating for underlying conditions would be wise.

If you are referring to…[Read more]

    Hey jerseygirl,

I’m currently in Canada (so it’s winter here), and its relatively cool in my basement – it’s about 21 degrees Celsius.  I do think she probably overheats quickly because of her coat, but because she has less energy than the days before, that’s what worries me.

I definitely will bring them in tomorrow assuming her energy level…[Read more]

Hi everyone! I am mortified that I even have to make this post, but I need help. Desperately.

    Backstory:

I currently have an 8 year old female Polish Dutch mix rabbit named Jasmine. She is unspayed. She is also arthritic and on medication. In a previous post I explained why she is not fixed. I know how irresponsible it is to have unfixed…[Read more]

Could the environment be too warm for her today perhaps? Her coat might be more wooly then the boy?

Rabbits tend to breath fast when hot. Or after stress.

Ita good to have her seen incase some underlying condition is causing this.

Do you know much about their age or prior circumstances?

I’ve seen both my bunnies groom each other, but it’s rather infrequent… I’ve only seen my bunny Yujin do it a handful of times when Khushi asked for a grooming. I’ve seen Khushi groom him just once. How long does it normally take before it becomes more of a regular occurrence between the bunnies?

So I have two foster buns (Angoras) over the Christmas break and I’m worried about one of them – the female specifically.

The male is very energetic, but the female has always been less energetic.  She would run maybe for a few minutes, and then flop.  Over the past week since I’ve got her, she has also been shaking and “fast” breathing, s…[Read more]

It took a while for my pair to be OK with hidey houses in their shared space, so if it doesn’t work out, it doesn’t mean it won’t be agreeable eventually!

You could try it and see what happens! If the nipping/chasing continues, then remove them.

If you feel like things have hit a stalemate, you might try taking them on a car ride together or changing up the space (or even moving them to a new space if you’ve got one).

I’ve learned that expanding space and adding new toys doesn’t change their behavior but adding hidey houses/boxes do. When a box is added, Nova (my girl) ends up chasing and nipping Pekoe back into the litter box. Would adding two boxes interfere with building the bond?

Hi everyone, I have been wanting to build a castle for Bentley for a while now. So I finally came up with a blue print and my dad and I went to home depot and lowes to look at wood. He suggested plywood as one 4×8 would be enough for the whole project. After looking around, I thought I would get the maple plywood. But after coming home and doing…[Read more]

Meg – Thank you Meg 🙂  And LOL I love that book title… I’m going to look it up!  And awww that’s super cute, I’m going to try that grinding teeth thing with my buns tonight!  It must be so nice to hear him reply to you with a little teeth grinding 🙂
