Hi I’m autumn I’m 14 yrs old and I love my bunny Finn however my parents make me keep him in the garage because they don’t want him in the house. I have tried so many times to convince them to let Finn inside but they won’t budge… I want to make my rabbits life better OUTSIDE. Any suggestions???

Thanks for the quick reply. The vet did instruct us to start the motility med this evening. She had her first dose about 30 minutes ago. Pain med starts in the morning.

That’s wonderful that she’s eating hay, as that’s the best thing for her. Peeing and pooping is also wonderful. 🙂 As long as her appetite for hay is good, I don’t think you need to do critical care, but you can try offering some on a plate or spoon and see if she’ll eat it willingly. You can also offer some favorite wet greens to help with…[Read more]

Charlie’s spay went well today. The vet tech told us Charlie ate throughout the afternoon on the greens and hay I took for her. She pooped and peed. She’s been home a few hours now and is nibbling on hay now and then between resting. I haven’t seen her drink yet, but she has peed in her litter box and has produced a good amount of poops. She’s…[Read more]

Did you find out the cause of the abscess he had on his left cheek? Rabbits are as a species prone to abscesses when they get any deeper wounds, such as bite wounds, or if they have severe dental problems.
Some rabbits are more prone to abscesses than others. I dont think it’s known why. They often have a history of bacterial infection, but that…[Read more]

Oh gotcha! Yeah it could be that specific rug is tempting because it’s softer and fluffy.
I’ve also had good success cleaning areas they tend to mark with pet-safe enzyme cleaner. I’ve used the nature’s miracle carpet shampoo a lot and my buns seem less inclined to re-mark those spots.

It’s likely that your bun picks up on the smell of raw meat. Blood flour (made from freeze dried animal blood) is traditionally used as both a fertilizer and to deter rabbits and deer from veggie- and flower beds.
Not all rabbits freak out at the scent of meat, but some absolutely do. The meat doesn’t have to be raw, some buns panic at the scent…[Read more]

Hey Dana
I have seen Khushi actively flop right in front of Yujin and also Yujin grooming Khushi. They do well with sharing a food dish and the litter box together.
Since the incident they went 5 days without any squabbles. I have let them start free roaming and they are doing really well. Yujin follows Khushi around exploring all the new places…[Read more]

Hi! I just got my bunny Alto a few weeks ago I absolutely love him! I am a first-time bunny owner, but I did a ton of research before getting him. So far things have been great and he’s really been chilling out and having a good time. I am quite the cook and I love cooking chicken, pork, beef, etc. But whenever I work with raw meat when I am all…[Read more]

We had him neutered in November so we’re good there. I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing and put a blanket over the problem areas and see if that helps until he breaks out of it. For the area rug, it’s a pretty thick high pile rug, are all rugs and issue or would it be better to get a lower pile rug instead? We have thin mats in his enclosu…[Read more]
