Hm, I have doubts that just a water bowl vs bottle problem would cause such severe irritation and scabbing. In terms of dental, unless you had xrays done, they most likely mean grinding down spikey portions of the back teeth that might be hurting your rabbits cheeks/tongue. Extra saliva is produced to lubricate and sooth those spurs, which leads…[Read more]

Hi! I just got my bunny Alto three weeks ago, he’s almost three months old. We’ve been having a great time together, he seems happy and healthy. I feed him 1/4 cup of pellets per day along with a tsp of fruit. I notice under my bed where he likes to sleep sometimes, there’s an abyss of poo and most of them look like cecals (I clean under there…[Read more]

Thought I would update you guys, and see if anyone has any similar experiences. This is the third time this “rash” has appeared. I think it’s from being wet so much (drinking water, eating greens). I chop up his veggies into small pieces and it seems to help, but the issue is back. I wrote an email to the vet and I’m waiting for a respons…[Read more] -

Thank you for your reply! I just called the hospital and he’s eaten a bit unassisted overnight so they’re letting him come home this evening. Good to know I can supplement with the CC in my freezer if I need to 🙂
Does anyone have any tips for a convalescing youngster?
Thank you again

Crirical Care lasts a very long time in the freezer. I had to use old CC last year for my bun when he was ill. That bag had been in the freezer for about 2 years.

Hello everyone I’m sort of new here! I had an old account with my previous buns but couldn’t log in so new account and new bunnies 🙂
I adopted Betty 18 months ago (black and white rex) and this summer I adopted Herman. He’s a little black bun and is now 8 months old. Since Saturday he’s been in hospital at the rabbit specialist vet in Toulous…[Read more]

Yes the previous one was not due to dental issues I think it was because of some injury…btw Cookie was owned by some other people and during the pandemic them left him with us and went back to their hometown without letting us know that they will never come back…and this poor baby was left behind with us…From then we are taking care of our…[Read more]

Aaron replied to the topic Stasis Question in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 7 months ago
Just checked the litter box to see that he passed some misshapen poops and then some cecotrophes. He was also laying in his litterbox which isn’t like him but I’m attributing that to not feeling like himself.

The vet did bloodwork and an x-ray of his belly. The bloodwork came back normal and his x-ray also came back with normal findings, just gas in his GI tract. I was worried about him having an obstruction (he likes to chew quite a lot on the blankets I have for him), but the doctors ruled it out. I did clean out their litter box and put fresh hay…[Read more]

It is customary to give metoclopramide to stasis buns, if a blockage can be ruled out. If a blockage can’t be ruled out, metoclopramide could make matters worse. Do you know if they did x-rays of his belly?
Have you seen any poop since you came back home? It can of course be very difficult to tell since he isn’t a single bun, but it is still…[Read more]

Hi, everyone!
My poor rabbit Sebastian was diagnosed with GI stasis this evening (thankfully, the vet said we caught it early). He’s had it once before in January of 2017. I noticed today that he wasn’t eating like he usually does, wasn’t interested in hay or water, and when I felt his belly, it felt hard to the touch. We went straight to the…[Read more]
