Rainn started the topic Still not back to normal after medications in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 7 months ago
Hello, a few weeks ago Rain reached a point where she refused to eat at all and we had to get her checked out by the vet where they gave her pain medications and some antibiotics for pasturella. They didn’t identify any specific problems though, they just said the antibiotic was incase she had a low grade infection. Her teeth were fine a…[Read more]

I’ve tried to massage her tummy for some time, but her behaviour remains the same.
Her ears are fine, neither cold or hot.
Me and my spouse just took Zatanna to a vet-clinic. I’m anxiously waiting in the car, due to the 1 person rule.
Her diet has been kept unchanged since we got her as a baby bun 2 years ago.

Thanks, yeah my husband has been trying to get me to just do the best I can while I’m here and not worry too much about it… but like all of you I just really want what’s best for the animals around me! He just had a check up at the vet and I think he was 55 lbs? I think he will fill out a bit more, he is so muscly!
I actually took him to my…[Read more]

I have been feeding it as well. I think the last recall was one specific farm that was pulled from shelves right away? Prob safest to inquire with your grocery store to see where they are sourcing their lettuce.

Thank you for fostering her!
I think the diet you are doing sounds great, I’m sure her condition will come back. I actually wouldn’t do much alfalfa unless a vet recommended it, but you can give extra pellets, critical care, and oats. Critical care especially is really good for recovering buns. Sherwood pellets have a good amount of fats in them…[Read more]

It sounds like she has some gastric distress. The postures you’re describing are typical for rabbits who are trying to find positions that make it comfortable while having stomach discomfort. Tummy massages (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbyC6CWbm5M) can help relieve some gas, and if you can get some infant gas drops (simethicone), it can also…[Read more]

About 5 hours ago, Zatanna started acting weird. She stopped being interested in food, treats and cuddles, and the only thing she’s been doing for the past hours is flop to the side, her back, and do the flying superman pose. I also noticed some heavy and fast breathing, kinda like she’s exhausted. I understand that a flopping rabbit is commonly…[Read more]

I am SUPER HAPPY right now! I was FINALLY able to update the buns area so they can get more room! I know they need more toys but I’m out of money. 😅

I think small spaces can contribute to sore hocks right? Maybe increase her space with an x-pen and use memory foam mats or the vet bed mats so her feet can be cushioned and can bend. (Correct me if I’m wrong about more space for sore hocks).

Staphylococcus aureus is the name of what they found in the culture. The vet said the Sulfatrim should be able to get rid of it. It’s already pretty cleared up but we’re giving it to him for another 7 days to try to make sure it’s all gone. :/ Hopefully it works.

Of course!! Cheesepuffs is asleep but he is a robo and he has some lil brows too 🙂
Coconut looks very offended because I shook his bedding a bit but here he is! He’s a hybrid of WW and Campbell 🙂

As for her fur, she may simply be a rabbit that sheds like that. My boy Wally loses fur in big clumps and that’s just normal for him. Although she isn’t used to being petted, if she needs groomed I would suggest trying one of those glove brushes. They don’t work super well but should be less scary.
Are you able to just hang out on the floor with her?

Hi all,
I’ve been a rabbit owner for around 5 years now. I have fostered and cared for rabbits with a variety of behavior histories and dental issues. I just recently took on my second malocclusion/bone spur bunny that is getting her teeth trimmed and all other needed vet care next week. However, this poor little thing clearly was not given an…[Read more]

Moonlightbunny66 replied to the topic Help! Rabbit won’t stop digging constantly in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 7 months ago
Do you think she would dig at a rug or a hay mat? You could try something like that and watch to see if she still digs. And yeah I would probably block off under the bed if she continues digging.

You’ll have to watch and see if she wants to chew the tape lol. I’ve caught mine with pieces of tape in their mouth so I took it all away. There’s wall corner guards you can get to cover the edges things she might chew.
Is she spayed? I think some people use vinyl flooring but someone else could offer better advice on that since I’ve never u…[Read more]
