    Not bothering at all. 🙂

Well, before the pandemic I would make an effort to spend some time with my buns each morning and evening. Hard to say how long exactly, but I would usually sit on the floor with them while I was having my morning coffee or scrolling on my phone in the evening and give them some cuddles.

Since covid I’ve been working…[Read more]

Hmm yes okay:) I mean, now I’m living with mum so I can’t really have big space but Im planning to move out in like three years and she will have plenty of room to run around 24/7. She seems like a very happy bunny so I hope it’s fine for her.

Can I ask one more question, how much time do you spend with your bunny?:)

Thank you a lot, hope I’m…[Read more]

It sounds like she could have a urinary tract infection, they happen from time to time with buns.

Has anyone had their bun piddle? Not spray marking or peeing outside the litter box but actual pee dribble? My girl’s going to get checked today but I’m concerned they’ll tell me it’s nothing. She’s never done this before and I know 10000% it was NOT spray marking.

I hope this is in the right topic but anyway we’re gonna be cleaning the fleece blankets tomorrow and I need to know if there’s any safe detergent that I can use for them. We have Purex dirt lift action for baby, is that ok?

That is fine (esp since she’s a baby), but most cages are too small, even if they get lots of run-around time. Maybe you could set it up so even if she jumps on the cage she wouldn’t be able to use it to jump out? They do sell some pretty tall x-pens for dogs that would probably work well.

It’s not urgent, but just something to think about for…[Read more]

Baby bunnies should not be eating fruit or veggies, so that is likely the cause of his tummy getting upset. Is he eating hay? You also shouldn’t limit pellets at this age. If his poops are getting smaller you definitely don’t want to restrict food.

I wish mine would sit on my lap! They have hopped over me in bed, sometimes pausing on me for a few seconds,  but that’s about it 🙂

I was thinking about letting her out in front of the cage at night buut I’m scared she would jump over the xpen, because I saw how high she could jump 😅 (she jumps on that cage too if we are not looking)

I mean she is all day free so is it okay if I put her in cage at night? I hope she can adjust to that. I just want her to be a happy bunny.

Hi i have a baby bunny (3 months old) for the last day I’ve noticed he has been leaving tiny poops and he also had a wet poop. The wet poop is smeared so I don’t know if it was diarrhea or just a wet cecal. He has been eating just fine and drinking. He hasn’t been doing anything out of the ordinary. I have stopped giving him fruit and have…[Read more]

I agree that she will adjust to your schedule, and that giving her time in the evenings is great.

You also might consider getting an x-pen to attach to her cage as a “front yard”, that she could have access to all the time. Then she could get some zoomies out overnight as well.  🙂

Hmmmm, yeah prob a good question for a vet. In addition to worrying about smells or it chipping and being eaten, I would worry a bit that if it was too tacky that it might pull slightly on their foot fur and be hard on their feet.

It would be safer to clamp down some paper, cardboard, or grass matts in the areas where they are slipping around.

I’m so so sorry for your loss. 🙁  It is so unfair and unfortunate (to put it lightly) when we are trying to do what’s best for our buns and it all goes wrong.

I would have done the same thing, because if you had waited longer the surgery would have been even more risky, and then you would have been questioning whether you waited too long,…[Read more]

This is a fun thread! Cooper is the first bunny I’ve had that willingly jumps on my lap for pets (out of 9!). He will actually use his hide to climb up to my lap while I’m sitting in my office chair, but he’s a pretty unique little dude in how outgoing he is. Bun Jovi will sometimes jump on my lap, but usually I’m either I’m in his way, he is…[Read more]

Hello, thanks for the advice. Now that I think about it, we do have a vet appointment next week so I could ask one of the vets then.

DanaNM replied to the topic Syringe size for critical care in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 7 months ago

I like to use 6 mL syringes because I find the larger ones to be a bit unwieldy, but I like the 10 mL ones too.

I know when I tried a really large one that I got from a pet store it was hard not to squirt too much food out at once. 1 mL ones work fine for some people, but I would find it annoying to have to fill up so many to get the right amount…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Rabbit Health and Dandruff?? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 7 months ago

There have been cases of fur mites that were resistant to Revolution (selamectin), so that Advantage was used instead.

If your vet didn’t find any mites and Revolution didn’t make a difference, it could be that the dandruff doesn’t come from mites. Some buns get dandruff-like flakes on their ears. You can brush them off with a very soft baby…[Read more]

Thanks guys! That’s interesting, I didn’t know about any of that. What does the agouti colour mean for his breed? (if that’s what it is).

I think he looks like the American Chinchilla but I don’t think he’s big enough to be a giant chinchilla? Could he be a mix of a Flemish giant and chinchilla? Or is a chinchilla rabbit just the name of a colo…[Read more]
