How much time you spend with them depends on the rabbit too. I’m largely ignored until the evening and then it’s “pet me” and “give me food”. That’s really all I’m good for. LOL

I agree, you can try Advantage just to be sure. Otherwise, it may just be… dandruff.

Small poops usually mean a lack of hay or dehydration.

- Most vets don’t do x-rays or blood work (unless there is a reason to, ex: age). Such tests are generally not cost effective for young, seemingly healthy rabbits. If there is an adverse event in a young rabbit, it’s usually not something blood work could detect anyway. As Wick said, it’s usually a congenital defect.
- I think you asked all the…

I’d say any unscented detergent is probably fine.

Oh, that is just a cap that’s on the tip in the picture. It just looks normal without the cap.

Hi, my rabbit had a successful surgery! I was very nervous before as well since also new to rabbit parenting. It took him a few hours after getting home to leave his carrier. I was so freaked out about him not eating, but I’d give him pellets and he nibbled them, and once he came out he started eating hay again. Also my vet forgot to give me the…[Read more]

Both vets (exotic, rabbit-experienced) that I have worked with with my Wick (treated for syphilis) mention that it can take a long time for the PCR blood test to show a decrease in syphilis antibodies. Did/is your rabbit showing signs of having syphilis still?

Hey thanks for the picture, because that has a strange tip on it that doesn’t show up in the first result I would have found. I’m assuming those end tips are removeable? Do you have to have it on when feeding the bun or taking the medicine up?
The other question I was going to ask was there anything else you guys recommend having on hand for…[Read more]

Also forgot to mention that my syringes were given to me by my vet, so maybe your vet could just give you a couple?
Simethicone (baby gas drops) is for sure safe for buns, it’s often given to help with gas in bunnies. It’s another good thing to have on hand in your bunny first-aid kit. 🙂

That one you posted looks like it has a narrow tip, but you could always cut it to make it wider. I don’t think 12 mL would be too unweildy!
If you search 6 cc Monoject syringe, that looks exactly like the ones I use. I haven’t had a problem with the tip getting clogged, Critical care is pretty finely milled. I can imagine using pellet mash might…[Read more]

Hey guys, really appreciate the insight. I also called my vet; they mentioned they use a curved tip 12 ml syringe. (They also said that the important thing is getting a wider mouth than a normal syringe so it doesn’t get gunked up.) However, I’m also a little worried about what Dana mentioned, that it might be difficult not to squirt out too much…[Read more]

The vet said it is a uti so TMS antibiotics. The sneezing, since there’s no discharge, the vet said it may just be seasonal combined with the stress of weekly shots. If it gets worse then they’ll check her again.

I did talk to the vet about increasing the frequency but was told no. The last blood test a few weeks ago put her at .389 which is mildly positive. She’s halfway through another round of penicillin and then we’ll do another blood test. I also asked if there was another medication she could take to help the penicillin be more effective but was told…[Read more]

How long is the penicillin treatment intended to go for? 6 months seems very long for treatment, and if syphilis symptoms aren’t improving, I think more frequent intervals might be needed though definitely discuss with your vet. My rabbit was treated for syphilis and I did daily penicillin shots for 3 weeks.
