So, there are a few ways things can go. I would only recommend going for the group if you are prepared to deal with any of the outcomes. đŸ™‚
Bringing a new bunnies (or bunnies) into the group can cause the current pair to split up, either temporarily or permanently. I think it’s very common for the pair to split up, and then go back together once…[Read more]

Are these darker poops something to be concerned about then?

DanaNM replied to the topic Hay in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years, 8 months ago
As long as it’s a grass hay (not alfalfa) and he eats lots of it, then it’s fine. There are some slight differences in fiber and protein among the grass hays and different cuts, but nothing to be concerned about as long as he eats plenty of it. My buns poops get a bit darker when they eat orchard grass vs. timothy, for example.

Hello all! Sorry if this is the wring place to post this.
I have two 1 yo rabbits named Lilly and Leo. I’ve been thinking about getting one or to more. I have a wonderful rabbit rescue near me, they have lots of experience bonding rabbits and have nearly two hundred(not joking) rabbits for adoption at any given time. I would love to get a couple…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Head tilting upwards? in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 8 months ago
Near the end it’s a little odd that he periscopes, but that could be from noise, sensing you watching him, or something else. Upward tilt while eating can be from a bent piece of hay and your rabbit is adjusting its head to get a good chew grip on it. My Wick does this often.
Essentially there are other things that could cause this that arent worrisome.

@LBJ10 hi! Yes he does usually tug at long strands of hay, but has never lifted his head so high before, which is why I’m not really sure if it’s normal.
he tends to scratch is head and cheeks quite abit so that’s why I’m thinking the ear mites may have developed into an ear infection. He is in the middle of his treatment for ear mites though,…[Read more]

Oh, yum! Very good that he has a healthy appetite!
I dont think this looks very bad tbh. Individuals have different healing capacities, so you will need to keep a close eye of course, and if it still looks bad after 5 days or if it gets worse, your vet may want to put him on oral antibiotics. But for now, I think you are giving him the…[Read more]

Poor little bun!
Hopefully the cream will help the third eyelid heal, so it can function properly again. It has both tobramycin (for bacteria) and a corticosteroid (for swelling and other inflammatory reactions). Rabbits are as a species sensitive to corticosteroids, but from what I can find, Tobradex has been tested on rabbits. Did you get any…[Read more]

Hii, is there any difference between what hay do I give my bunny? Or I can give him any hay he likes.
I had meadow or Alpine hay but he did not like it too much he was too picky. Now I changed it to some different hay (not sure what it’s called) but now he eats plenty of it.
Can there be a problem with more protein intake or something like that?…[Read more]
