When I brought a new bun home, she was super scared and skittish. She was the same as yours, she was eating some, peeing, drinking and even laying in relaxed positions but no pooping. I wasn’t sure how long since I had just picked her up around 11am, but by 8am the next day still nothing so I called the vet. She still was acting fine though which…[Read more]

You might have already seen this, but there is a ton of good info here on care, costs, FAQ, etc. All good things to consider when deciding if a rabbit is the right pet for you:

Gotcha, yeah spaces that big are challenging! I had to use my friend’s garage.
Which reminds me of another tip… sometimes trying a completely new space can work wonders. If you are still not seeing any progress in a couple more weeks after trying car rides, you might start asking some friends if you can do some bonding in their kitchen or…[Read more]

Ignoring is fine 🙂
Ignoring means they aren’t too bothered with the other rabbit, which is a good thing. You might notice a bit more interest once you start swapping sides, but if not that’s even better.
You can start feeding them their salads and pellets near each other on opposite sides of the fence, if you haven’t already. That helps to…[Read more]

I agree that if he’s eating, then the poops should follow!

He might think they are bunny friends. 🙂 My bunnies will often groom the floor after I pet them as well. He might like to have a “stuffy”, a stuffed animal that resembles a bunny (or some other similar sized stuffy) that can be his friend. Since he doesn’t chew the pillows he would prob be fine with a stuffy.

Hi @Rosie_M did you end up finding a solution? My bunny currently has a similar condition and is being treated with Penicillin but it doesn’t seem to be working. I read this forum from a while back and am going to see if getting organic food improves anything – https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/lip-scabs/
Let me know if you’ve had any luck
Thanks!

Hi! I’ve wrote about my rabbit Toasty before. And this is more of a simple question than what felt more like a problem (but really wasn’t) for me beforehand. Anyways, onto my question.
Toasty is a singular bunny, I don’t own any other rabbits. He stays in one room in our house and we make sure he’s never exposed to our dog, Niner, who would…[Read more]

I completely understand you feeling that it is your fault, but do know that it is not. You did what you could to give your bunny a good life. Do you have any other pets? Any more bunnies? I, too, felt guilty when my bunny Lola passed away, last month. As a pet parent, you are always left wondering what did we do wrong? What if we would have…[Read more]

DanaNM oh good!! Of course you’re prepared, you’re super caring of your animals! I would be worried about him too, I think if you keep a calm environment he should be alright (as usual). I’ve heard you should block off behind the toilet so they don’t get stuck there. You may already know this. It might depend on how small the space is back there.…[Read more]

Update: The male rabbit, Nigel, was pooping and peeing everywhere so I put a sheet over the fence so they couldn’t see each other while he settled in. One day, I came home from work and he had removed part of the sheet and they were looking at each other through the double x pen I have that separates them. They have been living side by side with…[Read more]

If you’re really set on a snuggle buddy, I would recommend a cat. You should go to the shelter when it’s time to adopt and meet them. There’s always at least one animal you’ll feel a connection to and see if they’re the right fit.
I have three cats and two rabbits, they all have their own personality. Two of the cats love to cuddle, the other one…[Read more] -

She’s eating normally and seems as active as normal. She doesn’t seem to have any other symptoms which is why I am hesitant to put her through a big procedure. I have been trying anti-inflammatory/antibiotic tears drops for a week and it made no effect.

Agree with Bam, Simethicone is always worth a try.
As long as he’s eating on his own I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Hazel replied to the topic What rabbit breed is right for me? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 6 months ago
Being prey animals, rabbits naturally don’t like being held and cuddled. There are exceptions, and big rabbits like Flemish Giants are usually more chill than small ones. But if you want a pet to cuddle with, I would strongly advise against a rabbit.
