Thank you so much, a really appreciate,

she is doing well, in the morning her poop is soft and a little strange but then at night she is very active and happy and her poop looks solid but a little small, today she looks much better, she use to have some gas but that stop 2 days ago, the other problem that I have is that she is not eating hay,…[Read more]

What you describe is known as “necklace poop” or “string of pearl poop”. The “strings” are hair. Is your bun shedding? Does he eat a good amount of hay?

It’s good to brush the bun when it’s shedding, just so it doesn’t ingest too much hair when it cleans itself. If your bun eats fresh greens, you can serve them freshly rinsed and dripping wet,…[Read more]

It’s great she is wanting to eat now, you can let her eat and drink as much as she wants, especially encourage hay. Even offering extra wet greens can help with hydration.

Agree with others, it doesn’t look too bad. That said, alfalfa pellets and hay are one of the most concentrated sources of calcium for buns (a small scoop of alfalfa pellets more than meets a buns daily requirement for calcium). At 5 months you could start transitioning him to timothy hay for sure, as they only need one source of alfalfa while growing.

He will most likely be OK, since rabbits do chew up the weird things they eat and that’s not a huge amount… How is he doing today?

Best to just keep pushing hay and water on him as the vet said. You prob won’t see anything in his poop since they chew things up well. As long as he’s eating and pooping then I would just keep monitoring.

    Hi there,

So I think once she appears healthy, you can start bonding! Before then, you might actually start swapping litter trays (when they are a bit dirty). The bacteria from the other bunnies can actually help get her gut flora healthier again. But if she doesn’t currently have weird poops or GI symptoms, then she probably is well on her way…[Read more]

How big is she? 1/2 cup of pellets is a lot. If you cut back a little on the evening serving of pellets, maybe she’d be more interested in eating hay during the night. Buns as a rule prefer pellets to hay, and will fill yp on pellets if they get the chance.

How do you serve the hay? Its good to serve hay near the litterbox so the bun can eat…[Read more]

I have a small deck/balcony which Dorian can scamper about on. The balcony also has a bird feeder and I have a couple of crows that have been hanging out since they were babies and though they aren’t tame, they know who I am and will come say hi and demand snacks. I was a bit worried about Dorian and the crows, but figured after watching them…[Read more]

The person who I got her from was giving my bunny timothy hay she gets like 1/4 or 1/2 cup of pellets she’s very used to pellets and doesn’t want to eat hay instead of hay she eats pellets and sometimes when she eats she’ll just stop eating I think she eats part by part

Do you know what type of hay the person you got her from were giving her?  Sometimes young buns get alfalfa hay, which is richer and a lot yummier than grass hay. If your bun is used to getting alfalfa hay, that could be why she isnt intetested in grass hay.

Is she getting pellets, and if so, how much does she get per day?

If there is any bunny parent who can help please do I’m worried.…[Read more]

Hi, I dropped my rabbit (or, in more specific terms, he clawed me and jumped way too high) and his reaction was a bit weird…

He lives in a cage + large x-pen area, but he doesn’t like when I sit on the couch outside of the pen because he gets lonely. So I decided to pick him up and let him sit on the couch. He’s done this many times before, but…[Read more]

Hello! Last night Alto got too close to the bag of pellets and ripped the bag and ate a small piece of plastic. I have been worried sick since. He has been eating, drinking and pooping lots! I do worry it could have caused a blockage but I wonder if it was too small to do so. I am a first time bunny owner. I called the emergency vet last night and…[Read more]
