Since this has happened twice in the past 2 months, do you suggest I use separate containers for his litter material and hay?  I have them together in the same litter pan right now.  Thank a lot for your help!

I wouldn’t worry about it then. The problem will resolve itself once he is no longer sitting on wet poop. It will take awhile though since the fur will need to grow out.

I don’t think I see chunks, just a dark brown color like he’s stepped through mud and a darker yellow from urine. Mostly his back paws.

Could you get a soft e-collar instead?

Are there actual chunks of poop on his paws? Or are they just stained brown?

Sounds like mites or ringworm if the skin is flaky and irritated. You’ll need a vet to help you determine which one so you can do the proper treatment.

Yes, fur pulling can look pretty bad. In my mind, a really bad fight involves biting that causes injury. You don’t want things to escalate though, so I would suggest keeping them separate for a bit. They were only neutered 8 days ago, so they are likely on a roller coaster of hormones right now. Wait for their hormones to settle, then do the bathtub.

it’s her skin on the outside of her ear at the bottom that is a bit reddish-pink looking, not anywhere in her ear. and the really tiny white things that seem like flakes are like in her fur from that area. it caught my eye because her fur is black so that was easily noticable.

Some rabbits can learn what “no” means, but you have to catch them in the act (i.e. chewing something they aren’t supposed to) and then redirect them. I think telling her “no” as she’s running around the room isn’t going to mean anything to her. Also, as Hazel pointed out, pushing her head down isn’t going to mean anything either. If anything she…[Read more]

    That makes me feel better.

I might be a bit paranoid as a first time bunny mom, but the tornado with tufts of fur flying everywhere freaked me out haha. If it was just the thumping/grunting/nipping I probably wouldn’t have thought much of it. It was when they actually got into it that I panicked.

They were neutered about 8 days ago. Their bigger…[Read more]

This actually sounds pretty normal. Keep in mind that they are young bunnies and, presumably, recently neutered. It isn’t unusual for them to behave like children, especially when yummy treats are to be had. The scuffle you witnessed isn’t what I would consider a full blown fight. They are simply having a dispute. You might do better to separate…[Read more]

So I am somewhat new to the bunny world. I had a bunny as a kid, but I was young and not really responsible for it’s care. My parents took care of it and I just got to play with it.

Now, as an adult, I just adopted two neutered male bunnies (both approx. 3 months old, not sibling) a few days ago. The shelter required them to be adopted together…[Read more]

A bit of both. He’s a teeny dog so any breeze or if it isn’t at least 80f in my house he is cold to the touch. And my dad has put clothes on him since he was a puppy because that’s just what my dad did so I guess he’s gotten used to wearing them and likes them now.

I didn’t even think about taking a video. I’m going to try that.

To clarify, is this the exposed skin inside her ear or it is fur on the outside, at the base of the ear (so around the top of the head and neck/shoulders)? If there are flakes and it’s red, it could potentially be mites or ringworm. Both are treatable, but you need a vet to assess which it is and they will recommend the rabbit-safe treatment.
