Nimbusthebun started the topic New bunny family with some turmoil 😳 in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 6 months ago
So beginning of last month my family grew by two adorable bunnies. A little back story, when I was doing all my research I learned that bonding can be hard and two males would not get along unless fixed. My search for the perfect addition went on for many months until I came across the boys (Joe T Whiskey Wabbit and Nimbus). The lady assured me…[Read more]

I’m very sorry to hear about your loss. The fact that you’re expressing concern for a potential future rabbit really shows how caring you must have been when she was with you, and I’m sure she really appreciated and loved that.
My understanding is coccidia is really facilitated, maintained, and thriving in rabbit feces. Outside of a rabbit’s…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic bunny just eats his toys 🙁 in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 6 months ago
So rabbit-specific toys should be things that are designed to be eaten. Willow basket, twigs, hay mats…. these are all toys, but also food. If these are the types of toys you are talking about, then it really shouldn’t be a problem! In fact, many rabbit owners get sort of frustrated that their rabbits do not interact with toys. It sounds like…[Read more]

Hello! I came here to see if anyone could help me. I recently lost a bunny. Weeks leading up to his death, the skin around his nails started to harden and crack to a point where it sounded like he was walking on heels. I have wood floors and I had him for nearly 8 months and it was only last month did this happen.
He also lost quite a lot of fur…[Read more]

They are rabbit specific toys and I know it wont harm him to eat them in small amounts but he likes to just sit and eat like whole toys at once. All of his toys are made with rabbit safe ingredients but I don’t know if it would cause issues for him to eat like a whole bunch of wood or other things his toys are made of at once. Like would he be at…[Read more]

Hi I lost a rabbit to coccidiosis about two months ago. I am a new bunny owner and didn’t realize she was sick(she most likely had it before I even got her). Sadly, even with multiple vet visits and rounds of albon she didn’t make it. Since then I have done a lot of research on coccidia and rabbit health. everything I’ve read has said that the…[Read more]

Don’t beat yourself up! It’s easy to trust a professional and in the medical field. I had a similar thing (but much more serious) issue with a cat and ended up not making it because of a poor diagnosis. And I knew better the whole time but did not try a different vet until too late. We’re only human and so are doctors. Not all may have specific…[Read more]

Please don’t feel bad, you’ve done so much to try and help her get better. Finding a good vet is hard. I’ve been through more than I care to count. It sounds like your new vet is getting to the bottom of it, that’s the important thing. 🙂 I hope she can start her treatment soon.

I use puppy pee pads with the recycled newspaper in the corners, then try to keep the hay on one side, though one of mine just pees all over the hay. I end up replacing it all the time which gets expensive but easy/ doesn’t smell too bad and better than when she wouldn’t pee in the box. I thought the pine helped more with smell but they didn’t do…[Read more]

Charlie was seen by a new vet today as I was not satisfied with her first saying she has chronic allergies. Especially after her culture results showed actinobacillus. She had a 14 day course of Zeniquin and still symptomatic. He did not extend Zeniquin saying it’s allergies.
I know I’ve posted a lot on this topic last 6 months and all the ant…[Read more]

Bam – Thanks for responding! I was actually wondering about the change to spring being a possibility as well.
His poop is just fine. No different than normal. I haven’t weighed up but can start. I’m used to that from when I had rats.Is it still concerning even though he does eat all of his food, just not at first?
DanaNM – Thank you for…[Read more]
