My diggers have all really liked cardboard cat scratchers, especially the ones that are different shapes.
Not digging specific, but my buns also all really like palm plates (if you search organic palm plate you will get some options).
I also use heavy ceramic tiles to block the spots of rugs they obsess over, especially along edge or corners.

Agree about the hair buster comb!
You could try pine pellets or paper pellets, and use a screen in his litter box. That would keep the shavings away from his fur.

It doesn’t look like mold to me, but it’s hard to tell from the picture.

Do you have any idea what ingredient in the pellets was causing the problem? Unfortunately, a lot of supplements have similar ingredients in them.

Hi all, I was unable to find any forums on my current situation, so I am posting for some advice!
My bun, Moo, is 6 years old, and he was rescued from a backyard breeder. Not sure the exact situation, but the rescue said it was pretty filthy, and the buns were being bred over and over again (he was a baby). Into his adulthood, he has always had a…[Read more]

I can’t comment on what’s available in Canada. However, I can say that dried rose petals are pretty popular. A lot of bunnies like them. Just sprinkle a “pinch” on top of the hay.

Was at store today. Had bought several bunnies for my charging cords. Put on the part closest to phone etc to keep from getting bent and wore out. Brought up bunnies. Man behind counter said his daughter wanted a bunny. He tells her its a lot of work. I gave him binky bunny. Yall taught me everything i know about bunnies. And house rabbit society.…[Read more]

@Wick ah okay good to know! He is a holland lop who is a year old so he’s on the smaller size I believe. So perhaps I will do the regular grids and then go to Home Depot for the coroplast and the carpet. I was looking on their site but I don’t know much about the carpeting. Do you have one you’d recommend?
Thank you again so much for all your…[Read more]

Yes, borders (the strip running up the walls) don’t really add that much structural support — coroplast is sturdy enough as it is.
For the flooring I have, it was a roll of 0.5in, high density memory foam. “Fleece” describes a variety of different fabrics, so the best I can say is I went to a fabric store, went to their “fleece” section, and…[Read more]

There is definitely some trial-and-error needed for those more energetic rabbits who aren’t very fond of “traditional toys”. I eventually figured out this was something that fit my more destructive rabbit’s “niche”. I binder-clipped fleece blankets and used an old Oxbow toy to “store” the fleece blankets. She loves pulling them and digging at…[Read more]

Thank you for the input Ellie! They are definitely both diggers, though Bunbun’s destruction seems to be more chewing and ripping while Bokbok’s is digging.
I was so excited to make their box with shredded paper but they weren’t interested in it, even with pellets in there. I think I’m going to try one again though. Do you recommend making it…[Read more]

@Wick Ah okay! I could get the coroplast again from home depot as I did with my bun who passed. It doesn’t need to have the borders though, right? I don’t see any on your cage so I’m assuming just having it on the base will be strong enough. I can just go with the regular grids too if it’s safer! The plastic ones I was looking at are a bit differe…[Read more]

The plastic grids (if you mean like the one I pictured earlier) are fine for walls, but I would not use them as floors. The grids should be used as floors and they, in my opinion, make for more sturdy structures when used as walls as well.

This is one of the cages I have right now. There is a collapsed X-pen on the side that’s linked to it at…[Read more]
