Did they put him under to check his teeth? Usually that’s the only way to get a proper look at the molars.

Maybe she has gotten bored of it? I sometimes have to switch up the hay i am using as sometimes my rabbit will take a bit and drop it like urgh what is this..I give her a different type and she eats it again. Have you tried different hays?

Thank you both for getting back to me.

I’m glad we are all on the same wave length. Ive got an appointment at 12:15 today with my usual vet so fingers crossed we can get this ironed out.

My rex about 2 weeks ago completely got off her hay and refused to eat it. I offered her favorite even, timothy hay, and she tries to eat it but it’s almost like she can’t. Usually when eating from a pile of hay she just takes the first piece she sees, but now she digs in it and tries getting tiny pieces at the bottom. When she does chew it it’s…[Read more]

    Hey everyone,
I’m a first time bunny owner and I love my bunny more than anything! I’ve done tons of research on how to best care for him but I’m still terrified I’m going to somehow mess up! I was wondering if everyone reading this could “fill in the blank” to the following categories so I can have some recommendations on the best of the best to…[Read more]

Baytril oral and penicillin injectable can be given on the same day, in my experience. My rabbit received both as treatment for an upper respiratory infection.

Aside from being annoyed, it shouldn’t hurt him if he misses a meal of veggies.

Yes, I do think you may need more frequent trims while that tooth grows back. Once things are stabilized though, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be able to go back to her normal frequency.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Need help with an eye issue in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 4 months ago

Matting is usually caused by weeping from the eye. Sometimes you’ll see crusty stuff stuck in the fur as well. This can be caused by a variety of things. This includes a foreign object irritating the eye, an eye infection, a clogged tear duct, and tooth problems. You can try cleaning it by using a warm compress to loosen the gunk. However, if the…[Read more]

I agree with Bam. You could try doing a thorough brushing and then see if the dandruff reforms.

Does anyone know if barytril (oral) can be given with pen G procaine (injected) in the same day? I forgot to ask my vet and they are closed.

Also anyone know how much and when Bene-Bac should be given? is it after taking the antibiotics or before? Thank you!

It looks like there is some crusty stuff.

I’d do a vet visit to check for eye infection.

    Keep us posted.

Don’t think so, but either the smell lessens or you get used to it.

I love the smell though 😁

I got the wood pellets! 😀 I was wondering though if there is a way to lessen its smell? It smells very strongly of wood and spreads throughout the room.

Ok, he always has access to hay in his litter boxes and a few baskets around my room. I will put extra hay out anyways and give him a few cucumber slices around salad time, just so he is still on his schedule :). Thank you so much!

As long as he has plenty of hay (and eats it well), don’t worry. It’s ok if a bun skips greens once in a while, and sometimes it can even be good for them, as it boosts their hay consumption.

You can still give him a few slices of cucumber if you’d like, but don’t try to compensate for the missing lettuce with cucumbers.

He might be looking at…[Read more]
