I actually see him being hungrier as an improvement, because I think buns should pretty much always act starving! He’s probably thinking, “umm excuse me… aren’t you forgetting something??”
My vet has also said that buns don’t need pellets, so since he’s had some issues lately and you give him a good variety of greens, I would give it a shot for…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Can't chew Hay, but vet says teeth look fine? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 4 months ago
It really sounds like a dental issue. I would call and confirm that they did x-rays. If not, then that would be my first plan of attack. Abscesses in the mouth can also cause issues that might be hard to see without imaging.

I’m so happy to hear your regular vet had a much more reasonable plan of attack!
I’m sure she will be feeling much better soon, and is probably very happy to not have her tongue being all cut up anymore!
I agree that waiting for them to wake up is always so nerve wracking, even when I 100% trust the vet!

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Need help with penicillin injection! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 4 months ago
I wrote a fairly long description of how I gave Wick pencillin shots in a reply on this topic: https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/penicillin-subq-injections/
Also, I had an experience where I was given needles that had too small of a gauge to actually get penicillin out, so if you find the plunger is getting stuck when you go to plunge it, that…[Read more]

Here is the medirabbit article on injections: http://www.medirabbit.com/Safe_medication/Inject/inject_en.htm
Remember you are not looking for blood, so not seeing that when you pull back is good. If you see blood, then you don’t want to proceed.

Hi bunnytherabbit! This is an old topic and you’re likely not to get answers from the user because of that. I recommend you create a new topic so active members can give their recommendations!
For a rabbit, there is no “wrong way” to face in the litterbox– they often push around hay and pee/poop on it all the time. That’s their nature!
I will…[Read more]

Me again.
Sorry for spamming but thought id provide an update.
She stayed in and they did an emergency dental today because her tongue was really badly cut because of the teeth.
Xrays are showing that her upper molars are coming through so that’s good news 🙂
The bottom molar that’s paired with the missing upper molar was burred right down to…[Read more]

Everytime I pull back to check for blood, I would get air. I know the plunger should be pulling itself back but I keep getting air. Is it the way I am tenting the fur?
Poor Bentley had to get pricked so many time and did not even get any in him today 🙁

For pellets, Oxbow garden select. Avoid foods with corn, wheat, soy, sugar ( molasses), fillers (if you don’t know what it is, your bunny doesn’t need it).
You can get a good variety of greens in the pre packaged salad section.
I found the crumbled paper works well, doesn’t track, kick out, or stick to the fur like typical paper litter and…[Read more]

Also, if you have access to clean, organic dandelions, those are good too!

I also use carefresh for my rabbit, I think she’s eating it, and she always faces the wrong way in her litter box, with her butt facing the hay.
She’s still new and quite skittish so she will get up if I come close to move her hay. Any advice would be deeply appreciated!

My vet is not a fan of pellets or treats and has suggested I don’t give them after a few gassy stomach issues. Dorian never got a huge amount anyway so it isn’t a huge issue, but he now seems a lot hungrier. Usually I would feed him dinner and he would eat a few bites then go to bed and eat the rest for breakfast, lately he eats the whole bowl and…[Read more]

Ellie, he is more kissy with my son than me, and his stuffed animals and bedding… and the chair. He will lay or flop next to me though, occasionally come on my lap. He’s very much a snuggle bun.

I can’t get over how much your bunny looks like my lionhead I used to have named Plumpy. Lol. Anyway I bought my rabbit Starlight a bunny bed and she just flipped it over and would chew it and lick it. On Christmas I bought her a stuffed toy and had it destroyed in half an hour.

The picture is hard to see. It almost looks like smashed poops that have crumbled apart.

Hi, i have a Holland dwarf rabbit, 6 months. Diet healthy, good appetite. But lately i have come across poop like in the picture. Looks liquid but dry. I’ve been giving probiotics to my rabbit for two days. I wanted my bunny to have a healthy gut in the spring. It poop is normal, but once a day i see it. Is this normal or is it diarrhea?

I assume they did because otherwise I don’t think she’d allow them in there. Also I did switch up the hay originally she was on orchard and now I’m offering timothy, still not interested.
