I recently got a foldable soft crate for my two since Fresno is giant and regular carriers don’t cut it lol. It’s sturdy but still soft, tall enough for them to stretch upwards, it opens from the front and side, and it has like 3 pouches that you can put things in and a slot for an ID card. I could even fit a small litter box in there if I wan…[Read more]

Yeah, she’s been eating probably more pellets than she should. I don’t think its a new food issue because shes been eating it for about a month. We just dropped her off so hopefully we get word in a few hours. I’ll cut back on the pellets and urge her to eat more hay.

It can be that one rabbit gets particularly energized for the first meal of the day and that energy gets re-directed to your other rabbit. If it becomes a huge issue and causes fights each morning, I would consider maybe getting a timed feeder for the morning or finding a way to separate them for that small period in the morning, whether that is a…[Read more]

When you say not healing, what are the signs you are expecting and how do they look currently? Also, is your vet exotic and rabbit-experienced?

My understanding (I am not a vet) is that gas can lead to stasis. Stasis is a state of being for a rabbit’s GI tract, so rather than the question being gas or stasis, it’s more so evaluating whether you should wait it out or go to the vet immediately. It looks like you have an appointment scheduled, and hopefully there’s good news from it.

Yeah we’ve got a drop off appointment within the next 30 mins so in the mean time I’ll keep giving her the cc

Gotcha — like I said I’m just a fellow bunny parent so obvi follow your vets advice!

Poor baby. When did she eat last? If the last time she ate was last night then you really should give your homemade CC.  You have to keep her going until your vet appointment or see if you can get in sooner….12 hours is definitely emergency territory.

For bunny castle type things, I highly recommend BinkyBunny’s Cottontail Cottage and Mini Haven! From personal experience, my Tokihut is quite durable and my chewer rabbit has nibbled it and is not interested. She was able to splinter a side or two but structurally it is still sound. My Minihaven has been chewed on but the cardboard is robust that…[Read more]

I’ll have to wait awhile before I can fix them just so they’re big enough so I shall keep them separated until then.

Thank you Wick for the advice!

Hopefully once they’re both fixed they can get back to being bonded and play together.

She eats a lot of hay, but after we got her and limited her pellet intake, she started losing weight. We took her to the vets and she said she didnt want to see her lose anymore and that she was in the perfect body condition. So, since I didn’t want her to lose any more weight, I gave her lots of pellets (about 3/4 of a cup). She’s a nine pound…[Read more]

Small poops are either an indication that her Gi tract is slowing down or starting back up. Either way it’s a good idea to go to the vet!  Definitely get your emergency kit ramped back up though!

I’m not a vet or rabbit expert, just a fellow bunny owner. but I’ll pose a question that might help others: when you say you’re feeding your bunny ox…[Read more]

I now have two fluffballs under my care, so I’m looking into upping my bunny game. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for:

    1) bunny castle — has anyone purchased one of the castles on Etsy (or anywhere else)? the tokihut seems pretty affordable compared to others (unsure of the durability), but looking for any sort of rec…[Read more]

The most confusing thing is that this morning she laid fully out but wont come outside. I picked her up and took her out of her cage which we use for sleeping, and after running around a little bit, she’s pooed about 15 small poos. I dont hear any noise in her stomach but she just pooed in front of me so her intestinal tract MUST be moving right?…[Read more]

Thank you so much, DanaNM! You’re the real MVP!

We’ve had several days of 2 hour dates and 2 days of grooming. I’m going to try for a longer stretch today since it’s the weekend. She has yet to groom him and is a bit…needy and demanding. That’s honestly the only hump we need to get over. They share everything else in the space really well, inclu…[Read more]

Yes, you should keep them completely separated from each other from now on. There’s also a possibility one is next sexed correctly so this will not only guarantee safety, but also prevent any unexpected pregnancy.

Baby rabbits get along well with others due to a lack of hormonal drive, rather than because they are littermates. Rabbits do not…[Read more]

    How is she this morning?

It’s good that she was eating willingly last night, and I’d suggest keeping up with it (though if you’re concerned there’s no harm in going to the vet). I usually try giving my bun things that he likes as a way to evaluate if he’s feeling ill. If my treat monster bun doesn’t eat a treat, then I know I gotta break the c…[Read more]

    Hello there 🙂

I just recently got 2 littermates (M-Joey and F-Zoey) and was told they were 8/9 weeks. The past week they’ve been best of friends, napping, grooming and playing with each other but this morning around 6am I was woking up to them having a massive fight in their cage.
I let them out to see what the issue was and they play, then o…[Read more]
