Hi, I am new to this site but I need some advice for bonding my two male rabbits, fluffy and moose. They live in two separate x-pens indoors but during playtime, fluffy often flops besides moose’s cage or sticks his nose through to get moose’s attention. However, when I try putting them together, fluffy nips and chases moose. I have been bon…[Read more] -

So they used these rabbits for breeding? How long has she been spayed? Seems unlikely that they are bonded if they have been intact and breeding until recently, considering it would take at least 2 months of recovery and bonding after surgery. Wouldn’t make sense for them to bother with that if they want to get rid of them anyway.
Seems kind of a…[Read more]

I lost my bunny Saturday and also blamed myself. It was the hardest and most sorrowful time I may have ever had, feeling this loss. It appeared that he was in pain for 2 days. Both of our intentions were to help our babies the best way we knew how and we can’t blame ourselves.
it’s taken a lot of tears and breakdowns and sobbing with my fam…[Read more]

Thank you! This information is SO helpful. She said 4 of her 5 bunnies are bonded and it sounds like they’re trying to sell them and will no longer be breeding. She said normally they don’t do meet and greets but would be willing since we live close by. They said they would set up a playpen in the shade and we could see how they interact. They als…[Read more]

Sounds like it’s going great! If they went in it without incident then I think you are in the clear!
Sometimes things just go smoothly like that 🙂

Phew, managed to expand their area with a bit of humping but no fights. I’m starting to think this bonding is going too well. I introduced a litter box this morning to their 2ft x 4 ft area and there was no fighting or humping. Nova checked out the litter box first and Pekoe, who is the more shy and nervous of the two, was able to hop in without…[Read more]

I’m sorry for your loss. 🙁
Young bunnies are very fragile, so it’s hard to say. Are you in an area with RHDV?

How long have you had him?
My bunnies love to nap under my bed too. Maybe you can add some hides and tunnels around the room to encourage exploring other places? What type of flooring do you have? If it’s slippery adding some rugs should help too.

If they have a bonded trio, it’s pretty weird that they would want to separate them. But maybe they aren’t really bonded but share a play area? Did they mention why they are looking to rehome one? You might ask if they would allow a trial period while you try to bond them, sort of like fostering?
Dominance has nothing to do really with whether a…[Read more]

It’s tough to give a valid judgment without pictures or descriptions– there are often breed mixes and variations within breeds that happen too.
A rabbit vet (who should be who you’re seeing for the neuter) will be able to let you know. Typically, you are looking for not visible ribs and if you run your hand along the spine, you should feel…[Read more]

Hi everyone!
I have a 9-month-old bun and he has a blanket in his corner of the room beside my bed. He is free to roam but he will only go on the floor under my bed and loves to nap under there. Other than that he never goes on the floor unless its under the bed. I’m really confused why as I want him to be free roam. I dont think the problem is…[Read more]

Hi, I have a 9-month-old Holland lop. He is getting neutered next week. Willow is 3.23 pounds is that ok for a holland lop?

That’s my biggest worry… that the bonding won’t work out. I don’t know what I would do. Cooper is very dominant already. I just don’t know if he will be happy forever as a single bun? My fiancé works from home and I am a teacher so I have summers off. We give him lots of love and attention. I was going to ask the person if we could take Cooper…[Read more]

Thank you for replying! I called my regular vet on Friday and they weren’t able to see him until the 12th. I called every vet that I know of in my area that sees bunnies and was unable to find one that could see him. His lip looked a lot better Saturday then it looked pretty swollen on Sunday. I was able to take him to my second choice vet ye…[Read more]
