Yes, he eats and poops well. But it’s been exactly a week today since he had surgery. So I’m not sure how many days it’s normal to still have some swelling in his left testicle. 😐😐😐

Im currently bonding 2 bunnies. I had my boy for 5 years and I *thought* he had a strong personality, would be territorial and would hate not being the center of attention. I was very wrong. He’s actually the submissive bun in the relationship! I live in a 1BR apartment that he had free roam of, so I decided to bond at my family home where there w…[Read more]

Very good tips in this thread!

Some bottled (flat) water is good to have at home in case the water supply is compromised f ex by heavy rains. (Maybe you always have bottled water at home anyway).

Puppy pee pads are great to line the carrier with, or the litterbox. The bun might have to stay in the carrier for many hours if you need to leave the…[Read more]

Some swelling is normal, and it can persist for at least a week. Some bruising is normal too. It should gradually go away through. It’s good if you can take a picture every day, so you can compare the day-to-day changes.

If the testicle sack swells to the size of a ping pong ball, you should take him to the vet again. It might means there’s a…[Read more]

Hi guys! Ok so we might be having trouble in paradise (sorry for the length). This morning I woke up and everything was fine. Typically pixie gets hangry and a bit agitated in the morning, possible because of her previous neglect. I typically scatter a few pellets to keep her calm while I go get them breakfast. well I went to the bathroom before…[Read more]

    Hello to everyone,

Cookie had sterilization surgery 7 days ago. We had a laser yesterday and the day before that for the swelling in his testicles. The swelling in his right testis has gone down, but some swelling continues in his left testis. Is this normal, how many days does the testicular swelling continue and is considered normal?

I see all three rabbits now that you’ve mentioned them! A big white lop with the drain as his tail. His head is also  another bun, a lop with Himalayan markings (darker ears, darker nose and tail). And then there’s the big-eared bun to the top left of the sink 😃

Bam replied to the topic If two rabbits are siblings can they be separated in the forum BONDING 5 years, 1 month ago

Rabbits can breed through cage bars, and it only takes a splut second, so if you dont want the rabbits to breed, they must be securely separated at all times, with no exceptions. Rabbits are induced ovulators, which means they can get pregnant at any time -they dont have heat cycles like dogs.

Having two intact rabbits housed in the same home…[Read more]

I just want to keep my rabbits happy and healthy but I don’t want to neuter or spay them even though the female has lived apart from the male since she wasn’t born until we are pretty sure a year(and 1 month?) ago we didn’t adopt the rabbits together but we decided today went we back to visit the 4h we would adopt the female but we don’t want th…[Read more]

Just within the past 3 weeks the aggressive one was neutered and the submissive one within the last 3 days but my “vet” told me to keep them together.. but I do feel like I should separate and restart the bonding process in a few weeks

This is so helpful! It has been driving me crazy, thank you so so much! I will look into that forum.

there was fur pulling but that was before the neutering now it’s just face attacks (not as intense as it sounds just lack of wording). I will take a few steps back and wait a few weeks, that makes complete sense

Ooooh they are looking really good!

If the chasing is just 1 loop around the pen and doesn’t go any further than that, I think you are in good shape!

I do think it’s important that they have space to move around if there are still some chases happening, so when you move them giving them access to a pen is great.

I have this feeling with your…[Read more]

That doesn’t make any sense to me. They were concerned because you have a free-roam rabbit? I mean you def need to have alternate housing set up for during the bonding process, but that’s easy enough to do.

Honestly all rabbits have a strong personality! What weird people. Weren’t they the ones you asked to provide proof of spaying? I bet they…[Read more]

Thank you so much your contribution. It makes my stress relieve itself a bit. With that being said, I will treat it with some Chlorhexidine over the next day or two and if the issue persists, I will head over to my vet. Thanks again to those who helped!
