I’m not sure, I wanted to share pictures of Thumper and say Hoppy July to people so I guess it could be a free-for-all.

Here is some helpful info on litter training:
https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/litterbox-training/
The rabbit info section also has some very helpful info on general rabbit care (on diet, housing, bunny proofing, etc) that I recommend checking out since you are a new bunny owner. 🙂

Whew, reading your title I thought the bun was ONLY eating Cheerios, not hay or pellets! I was concerned at first! It’s good he’s eating his hay!
They used cheerios as treats at the shelter I volunteered at, so they are fine in moderation in my experience! I’ve used them a bit too for extra special treats, but again only a few occasionally. You…[Read more]

Ah oh thank you! this happened a few days ago, so I went with my gut and took out the hidey house and put in a second litter. We moved yesterday, which involved a 2 hr ride in shared carrier. They’re currently staying in a neutral area, but I will have to move them to Wolfies territory in a day or so. The two litters seems to help, as does s…[Read more]

Might not be fully liter trained but with not having a bunny before I have no idea what to do to train him.

I can do that and see. I really think he is just being stubborn. He would always pee out the old one into my floor then I got the pee guards that made it better. But he has the one corner that he pees in. That is where the new box is right now though. He has never really used the liter box except for pooping. He would get in it to pee but pee out…[Read more]

Hello! My newest foster, Abi is causing a bit of a struggle. He was surrendered due to “aggression” but I don’t think that’s not the case. He just is nervous and doesn’t like people touching his things. (He’ll lunge at anyone who reaches into his enclosure.) so far I’ve only gotten him to eat pellets and hay. He won’t eat any vegetables, is…[Read more]

If it has really been that long I think you need to see the vet. Can you give him back his old litter tray to see if he uses it?

Maybe find a paint that is labeled as non-toxic for kids?

I have not found any pee anywhere. Unless he has peed in the liter box and it dried up. He seemed fine though.

Could he be peeing somewhere else in the house?

Thank you again Dana- and thank you for replying and keeping me (relatively) sane during this whole process.
we are a week in to them being together the whole time. I did not separate them (my daughter changed her plans and remained home to check on them) but we will need to be able to leave them alone soon.
I think they are bonded or at least…[Read more] -

I would think he can’t hold it forever. He feels fine though running through his house, still eating and drinking. Same old bunny.

It has been since yesterday mid day I think. I have not really went digging in the liter but it doesn’t look wet. I am beginning to worry but he should go you would think.

DanaNM replied to the topic I am worried about my elderly rabbit. in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 1 month ago
The flipping thing is kind of a lesser of two evils thing. Vets often do it for nail trims, x-rays, and other procedures where the bun might otherwise need to be sedated. I’m just thinking at his age it might be a bit too much for him.
Here is one method that might work for him if he’s fine with being handled in…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Did a CHIPMUNK cause our bun to act this way?! in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 1 month ago
It could have been?
If it was from the chipmunk, I would think she would get better over the next couple days as the smell goes away. If not, then I would have her checked for bladder issues, because it could be a weird coincidence.

Have you tried using Feliway for your kitties? I got the spray and it seems to help my cat Toby with new places. You can spray it in the carrier and the new house and it may help her.
You have also prob already heard the tip of having the carriers out and open all the time, so the kitties are used to them and they smell familiar?
