Talk about ups and downs Azerane… Luna must be a medical miracle, I’ve never heard of rabbits surviving that. Really hoping that something can be done for her.
Aww man, Australia is one of the worst places for a bunny to live. I hate it that they haven’t approved the vaccine for pets, it’s so needlessly cruel š„ It’s not like they’ll…[Read more]

With the skin being so clean, I have thoughts of either a molting spot or it was a scab from a wound that has now fallen off. If you pluck the other side of her face in that area, does fur molt off easily? Any where else on the face either?

My Wick was treated with PenG shots for syphilis. It was paired with oral azithromycin though because for a separate reason, Wick had received PenG shots earlier in his life (before we knew he had syphilis) so the logic was, well, if he still has syphilis now after that, perhaps we should add another med just in case PenG isn’t effective.
Wick…[Read more]

Oh dear… We watched a documentary called “Remarkable rabbits” and it showed that urine marking is a typical male way of saying: “You and me, hun!”. I’m happy to report a week of dry nights: I rolled up an old towel and lay that against me now. Owen still hops onto the bed and comes to look for a treat, but I haven’t received any love…[Read more]

Awww, Miu is so brave and making such good progress! And it does take getting used to a bunny who doesn’t need a carpet! Our Molly walks into the kitchen now… šÆ

Free-roaming goes in small steps and doesn’t happen right from the start. Especially if they’re young they’re still very destructive, and some bunnies may never become free-roamers. Others can free-roam but go back to their pen at night. And all of that’s okay.
Owen is a little over a year old now and we let him free-roam at night. He stopped…[Read more]

Gaah, she’s adorable! I’d forgive her for eating a hole through all of my clothes, the sofas, and every last item in my pantry. Cute and mischievous, what a mix!

Glad to hear that the pain meds are doing something for him. It’s good that you noticed that he doesn’t purr anymore, it’s very telling. It’s the most awful decision that you have to make for your pet, but giving them dignity and sparing them suffering is the best you can do. I’m hoping that he’ll have some good days still, our thoughts are with you.

Hi again! So Freya and Tybalt are currently with a bonder who Iām really hoping (fingers crossed) can finish them up for me! In the meantime, i want to make their settling back in as smooth as possible so Iām wondering what I need to sort out at home.

Oh interesting! I didnāt know it was harder on their stomachs than the antibiotics. Sheās on 100mg/ml ofĀ Chloramphenicol 2x/day. The c-grip hold that you all told me about works phenomenally for the actual administration, but getting her to actually come out to get her meds is more difficult. I capitalized on her treat obsession originally, so n…[Read more]

Does she live with other buns? Could another bun have nipped a little chunk of fur away?
The skin underneath looks healthy.

Gut slow-downs can have some ups and downs in recovery. If his hay consumption and poops have slowed again, you should syringe feed him and give him another round of metacam.
Sometimes you may get a bad batch of hay that the bun doesnt like for some reason, so trying a dif hay might be good to do as well.

Penicillin shots are generally harder on the stomach than a bun-safe oral antibiotics. I’m not too sure about their use in treating syphilis, which antibiotic is Pixie on?
Often the meds can be compounded to taste sweet to make them easier to give. if not try mixing with some mashed banana. You can even start pre-training the bun to take some…[Read more]

Hi again!
I posted a bit ago about my girl, Pixie, who was getting antibiotics for a sore on her mouth. Turns out, she has bunny syphilis! Iāve been treating her for the past few weeks with antibiotics, which has been a āfunā adventure, but just got the news that my male bunny is also positive for syphilis. They want to start him on the same 4 wee…[Read more] -

Heās pooping, itās just that some of them are smaller than usual and some of them arenāt. They did give me a treatment plan and the vet at the very least claimed they were rabbit savvy, they do a bunch of rabbit neuters and checkups and they have good reviews. The treatment plan was to give him metacam and critical care when he wasnāt eating,…[Read more]

Hiya, Iām really anxious to get some advise hopefully. I was with my bunny today and I noticed she had a patch on her nose. Ā This isnāt anywhere else and has come up in the last 2-3 days possibly.
Iām really worried what it might be, sheās never had a patch like this before. There is no hair at all. Just a section of skin. It doesnāt really loo…[Read more] - Load More
