Normally, I’m not one to get into the whole ‘healing vibes’ thing, but tippy has a special place in my heart.  A bun with a bad leg, he had been a very playful bun who never knew he had a disability.  Now, his condition is worsening.  My personal thought is that he is getting ready for his trip across the rainbow bridge.  If you watch the video on the page that the below picture takes you to, you can see him hanging out with his other limping friend, Nadia.  When these guys were together, Nadia would always run away from him.  But as you watch the video, you’ll see her actually come to him and even let him groom her.  I think she knows it is almost time too.

In the video, he will often seem like a splay legged bun but he isn’t – or I should say he wasn’t.  He just had the one bad left leg.

So, although healing vibes are always welcomed and I SINCERELY hope that Tippy will get better, I would rather have people just give him vibes that he has good, happy and pain-free days to come.

        Mark

Poor little cutie. Breaks my heart. Pain free vibes to Tippy. Could they not amputate the bad leg to give him some mobility?

I don’t have to watch the video…I’ve been sending healing vibes to the Haven and Save-A-Bunny for a number of bunnies there. (((((((((Tippy))))))))) I hope he improves, but if not, let his journey to the Bridge be painless and worry-free. *kisses bunny head*

So I guess your gf didn’t wind up taking Nadia then, Markus? Whatever happened with that?

Right now her current bun, Fitz, is having a piddling on the bed issue so the adoption is on hold until the roomie feels comfortable enough that they won’t be swimmin in pee while they sleep.  I THINK that she’s fixed the issue but not sure yet.  We are still thinking that Nadia will be coming home with her soon.  Although, right now I’d rather leave her there with Tippy.

I checked in on Tippy this weekend. The lil guy is doing good but still does not have a lot of mobility. They are taking him to a chiropractor that seems to really help him out. The only issue is that it costs $85 per visit. I’ll be donating one visit a month (i wish it could be for twice a week) for the next year myself because the lil guy is so amazing to me. The first time I saw him, he was doing binkies in his cage at me when I was coming over to give him some pellets. To see any bun binkie is precious but one with only 3 good legs, it was amazing.

I couldn’t watch the whole video…I was just crying too much!  I’m just so amazed to run across animals that just push themselves so hard to live a normal life as a pet.  I’m so heartbroken right now, that I’m having a really hard time typing.  I’m just too sensitive to these things.  My  fat cat keeps staring at me putting her paw on my foot.  I can’t take it.  I will be making a donation this weekend, I just need some time to get myself together b/f I go back to the site.  It’s just some animals try so hard to live, be normal, and well just..IDK

I remember at one shelter I volunteered at there was a cat that lost the use of his 2 back legs.  He was found on the side of the road shot w/ a bb gun.  He would pull himself around w/ his front legs.  He had no control over his bowel/bladder function but he just kept going.  He would pull himself up to the front of the cage for pets by anyone that walked by.  He ended up living out his final time at a rescue for cat’s that had FeLuk or serious illness that made them unadoptable.  He ended up living 2 more years….

If it helps any Skunk, Tippy rarely knows that there’s anything wrong with him. Currently, he’s in a bit of a bad patch but before he actually thought other buns were strange for not having a ‘kick stand’. We’re doing all we can for him and hopefully he’ll make a good recovery.

Don’t cry for him – he’s in a great place with fantastic people who love him. It’s more than most buns ever get to see or experience.

                                                Markusdark,
I just couldn’t bring myself to write more when I first saw the video the other night, but I know how Skunk feels. I started to cry when I saw it, but I knew he was doing his “normal for him” thing. He is so sweet. The thing is, Spockie had to move just like that last year – he taught himself to scoot really fast by pushing with the good back leg and pulling with the front, but it was the same trouble getting in and out of the litter pan, etc. I only have still pix of him at that stage, so it was kind of hard to see another bunny moving the same way.

Well, I took videos of him in 2005, when he was 6, and I think I will try to link to Photobucket to show you guys what he did with 4 on the floor.

I really love what you are all doing for Tippy. HE isn’t crying, so why should we, right?

Sorry, I thought if I came back I’d be ok….but I just started crying again.  It made me think, have you tried acupuncture?  I know that for some animals it can be incrediable effective.  Unfortunately, in PA, you cannot practice vet chiropractics or acupuncture w/o being a vet.  All this really started to get me thinking about what more I could do for the animals…

I collect vintage clothes & have done so for more than 1/2 my life.  I have a huge lot back in Chgo, couldn’t move it cross country w/ me in Philly.  I have since acquired even more.  I wonder if anyone would be interested in working w/ me to set up a Tippy Ebay shop?  Any suggestions, ideas?  It’s just this little guy touched me in a very real way.

                                                    Sweet Jesus I’m bawling like a baby…..

Tippy is SO precious! It is a very hard video to watch but volunteering for a rabbit rescue myself, I can say that I have seen more than a few bunnies just like Tippy. The remarkable thing is just how wonderfully they adapt to whatever situation they are in. Markusdark is right – Tippy has no idea that he is disabled. Disabled bunns don’t look at other bunnies and say “Hey, how come he can hop and I can’t? How come he can run and I can’t?”. They don’t get all sad and depressed about their state, they just march on however they can. One of many reasons why animals are such inspirations.

Have you thought about amputating his bad leg? Would that make it easier for him to get around? Or a cart with wheels?

I suggest everyone watch the video again only this time don’t focus on Tippy’s disability – watch him – he is such a happy bunny!

Love and kisses and (((healing vibes))) to Tippy!
