        Hello! Hope you’re doing well!

I’ve noticed a recurring physical behavior in my bunny ever since I adopted her: every time it’s winter here in Brazil (when the weather gets relatively colder and more humid), her allergies tend to worsen. As a result, she sometimes ends up with one watery eye, and it often develops a small reddish looking and scab in the outer corner.

I’ve tried everything: I always take her to the vet, we’ve tried all the antibiotics, I’ve treated her allergies with vaporizers, removed excess dust from her hay, cleaned the house and her area constantly—but even so, the symptoms always seem to come back and appear to be seasonal (she also sneezes and gets a slightly wet nose around this time of year).

My theory is that, during the cold months here in Brazil, she tends to hide more inside her little den and sniffs around her hay more, which could be irritating her respiratory system and eyes—or maybe even scratching or poking her eyes. What do you all think? Do your rabbits also show allergy symptoms in the winter?

Aside from that, everything else is absolutely normal—her behavior, weight, pee, and poop are all just fine. I’ve attached a photo showing how her right eye (the only one affected) looks.

        Thank you! ♡
