Hi! So my bun is 4 years old and recently I’ve found two cecotropes left behind that she didn’t eat. The first one was found about a week or so ago after I’d started feeding her parsley occasionally, so I quit that. Then today I found another one. She gets lettuce and cilantro twice a day, pellets, and hay (orchard & Timothy). Also the occasional treats/forage mixes. I haven’t had any problems with this diet and it hasn’t changed at all or had any new additions for at least two months, other than the parsley (which I quit feeding about a week ago.)

is this something I should be concerned about, or is the occasional left behind cecotrope not an issue? She is shedding now if that makes any difference, so she does get occasional tummy aches due to that. Thanks in advance for your help!

Things happen. An occasional missed cecotrope isn’t a big deal. The concern would be if she was clearly not eating any of them or if she was producing too many and they were getting stuck to her butt. A lone cecotrope on the floor every once in awhile? I would say nothing to worry about.
