I already went to reddit to try and get advice/reassurance but I was told I am a terrible bunny mum and that I’m going to kill her if I go through with this.

Rehoming is not an option. She is my family, my baby and I could not bear to lose her (nor could my partner). My home life is not good right now, my biological family has turned on me since I was diagnosed with a chronic illness/disability.

We leave around the end of September this year. I truly have no idea what to do or what the right decision is. I know how dangerous it is for a rabbit to fly in cargo but Australia is strictly against any animal being in the cabin, ADA does not exist here and they would turn me away if I tried to say she is a support animal. 

I’d be flying with my partner to his place in Iowa. The flight would consist of one stopover in Los Angeles for a couple of hours and then we would get on another flight to Omaha. The main worry of mine is the nearly 14-hour flight from Sydney to Los Angeles. I know that it only takes around 9 hours (or less I don’t have the best memory) for GI stasis to set in. The only reason I have some confidence is because she’s travelled for nearly over 9 hours when I first got her and she was eating and drinking and seemed quite relaxed despite us nearly being thrown off the train and being refused help despite me being disabled. I know a plane and train is vastly different but she’s quite a tough rabbit. Despite being mistreated in her last home and being dangerously skinny she pulled through without ever falling into stasis. Once I got her home she just continued to eat and drink and was pooping/peeing etc normally.

She’s vaccinated (for what we can in Australia) and spayed and is a happy and very healthy bun.

I love her so much and just want her to be happy and safe.

Is there anything I can do to increase her chance of survival during the flight/trip? Am I making the right decision? 

Any advice would be amazing
