So over the past few days, I’ve noticed that one of my rabbits, Kit, has been getting like a sort of flap or excess bit of skin on her belly. It’s almost like how a human would look after getting liposuction. It sags so low that it even touches the ground and although she doesn’t seem to be in any pain, I still want to figure out what this could be if this is something bad.

Are you sure it’s skin and not molting fur? Sometimes buns get a very unusual looking molt line. From the picture it looks like it could be a molt line but it’s hard to tell.

My other thought is it could be an abscess or some sort of growth, which should definitely be seen by a vet

Yes, is there actually a roll of skin under there?

So I took her to the vet yesterday and they said it looks to be just excess skin. They poked it with a needle and no fluids/liquids came out and she didn’t have much of a reaction to it. Looks like things are good for now. Thanks for the extra info!
