        Hi everyone,

I have a almost 4 year old female spayed rabbit who had a little bit of GI stasis yesterday. I gave her 2 doses of baby gas medicine and 5mg of a nutrirescue from small pet select that I’ve used in the past when i notice they aren’t eating.

After 3 hours she started eating hay and going to the bathroom. But i noticed that she wasn’t eating like before. She’s a great hay eater and will always accept veggies when i try to feed by hand but this time she sometimes takes it and other times ignore it.

I did take her to the vet today. They said her stomach does look a bit bloated and they sent me home with meds that will help with mobility. In addition, i mentioned her teeth maybe a problem but they said her back molars look slightly long but doesn’t think it’ll be a concern. He still trimmed it either way.

would also like to add that in the afternoon i give her half a treat of the oxbow digestive support supplement and a full papaya digestive support supplement from oxbow as well. She bit the digestive support supplement but then dropped it after taking one bite and took longer to chew that usual. Maybe bc of the teeth trim idk?

Also, i have her in a large xpen and she’s always biting it to be let out idk if that could be a problem causing this.

Just seeking advice on what could be causing this.

Her teeth are probably sore if they were trimmed. This should improve with time. Going back and forth with eating a little/not eating isn’t unusual with gas/stasis recovery. Tooth problems can be an underlying cause, so hopefully the issue will be resolved after this.
