Hey everyone. Im new here but i have a rabbit who started acting strnage about an hour ago. She is showing signs of bloat/stasis (not eating or drinking, pressing her belly down to the floor, and her tummy feels firm but only in the upper left portion of that area.)

My girlfriend and i have had a rabbit die to bloat and lovsr lobe torsion,  and we’ve delt with stasis before.

The thing im trying to figure is is it bloat, stasis, or a liver lobe torsion?

It is best to leave diagnostics for any emergency situation to a veterinarian who can properly assess your rabbit.

Here is a video that can provide some guidance on bloat vs stasis: https://youtu.be/iVW6Rw5rZzo

… Generally, the big indicator is whether the rabbit’s body is ballooning and hard.

You can find additional information about the differences here: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Gastrointestinal_stasis

Liver lobe torsion is arguably a separate, unfortunate beast. That requires blood work and potentially some imaging to diagnose.

Not eating/pooping are general symptoms rabbits will show whenever they are distressed, so having a vet take a look is generally a safe bet, especially when it’s a long episode.

It could be a gas aattck (rather than true bloat). If it just started an hour ago then it’s usually OK to give a tummy rum and simethicone and monitor. But if you see signs of true bloat like Wick&Fable linked, then it would be an emergency and she needs to be seen by a vet.

How is she doing this morning?

I agree that it could just be gas. Unless, of course, she has symptoms consistent with Wick’s link. Were you able to get your bunny to a vet? How is she now?
