        Hi everyone,

My bunny was acting fine today but I just noticed there was something up with his eye. Im not sure if it’s called a tear duct, but the clear membrane thing in the corner of bunnies’ eyes seems like it’s bled for my rabbit’s right eye. He’s acting normal, but the corner of his eye looks a little pink and has some blood. I just noticed it right now and don’t know if it was like this for a while. I cleaned it up with a damp towel and it looks better now but I’m still really concerned. I think he might have poked his eye eating hay or something but I’m not really sure.

Has this happened to anyone else??

This is something that should be seen by a vet ASAP. Especially without pictures it’s hard to say, but there are a couple of things it could be (a condition called “cherry eye” is one possibility, where the tear duct detaches and pokes out, or an injury to the third eyelid). They can be treated but do need prompt vet attention.
